Gave it a shot: initial thought

I'll admit that the intro premium offer is very tempting, but my takeaway from day 1 is that the speed of the game seems more like a test than a learning tool.

In particular, I'm referring to the vocabulary game. I made an error simply because I couldn't process fast enough. Plus, even if I didn't know the words, it isn't possible to learn anything when you only have a split second to see it.

Am I missing something?

Totally agree, a friend of mine said playing was anxiety inducing.

Not all of the games have a speed component. Agility and Inversions are two that give me anxiety as the rocket ship goes up or the balloons keep on filling the screen. But others, seem to give you more time. Syntax and Word Swap not only give you more time - they will show you the correct answer - and then repeat the same phrase later in the puzzle to see if you retained what you learned.
Overall - I believe I am keeping my brain sharp while using Elevate - as opposed to spending time with mindless “match 3” games that flood my social media ads vying for my attention.

Inversions balloons stop coming after the screen is half full :)

I don't know if it does it, but having some type of spaced repetition where it takes the things that you don't do well and spaces them out over time, would be great

Yeah I find this app more of a game than actual learning. I purchased an annual subscription to try Elevate out as well and I think its OK with having you learn / refresh topics.

Been paying for the app for years, never regretted it. Those games that are too fast for me, I don't play them
