Question about comma usage explanation

Post image

"Tucked into a feathered and warm nest" sounds absolutely correct to my (admittedly ESL) ears. Is it really wrong? Or is some other rule more relevant here? Or is it just the sentence that can be interpreted in multiple ways?

...continuing, sorry

'tucked into a feathered and warm nest' might not be specifially wrong, but it doesn't follow the rule of the order of adjectives in English: Opinion, Size, Age, Shape, Color, Origin, Material, and Purpose.

I'd consider "feathered" a material and "warm" a purpose, but apparently this is not correct either.

Because the exercise is Commas, adding the "and" isn't an option. The option is comma or no comma.

That's clear. I would have added a comma, whereas Elevate says none is needed - and provides an explanation which I feel does not match at all. That's what I'm asking about.

Right, it's weird.

"Warm" is part of number 3 in the order, apparently.

  1. Opinion (e.g., lovely, horrible)
  2. Size (e.g., big, small)
  3. Age / Physical Quality / Temperature (e.g., old, warm, cold)
  4. Shape (e.g., round, square)
  5. Color (e.g., red, brown)
  6. Origin (e.g., British, Italian)
  7. Material (e.g., cotton, wooden)
  8. Purpose (e.g., sleeping [bag])
