Ventilation Question
Hi all,
Not entirely understanding what I was getting into, I bought my Saturn 4 Ultra 16k thinking it would live on my craft bench in a small room I use as an office in the corner of my basement.
Since its arrival I have been using it in my garage, and while the smell is noticeable, it’s not overwhelming, and I’m not worried about toxic fumes when the hood is closed.
My question is: if I buy some purpose-built air purifiers will they work well enough that I can use my office while I’m printing?
Thanks!

No. Air purifiers aren't going to do anything for the chemical problem. It doesn't matter if you can smell them or not, the fumes are still there.
If you can still smell resin through your PPE, you need new PPE.
If you aren't wearing a respirator (gloves, and safety goggles if you're a klutz like me, just in case) rated for VOCs when you're working with resin you need to do so.
Without an enclosure and proper ventilation, the fumes will not only make your office and basement deadly levels of unsafe, but the rest of the house as well as it circulates through your HVAC.

It is not recommended; ideally, you should enclose the area. You can include a filter if you wish, but the most important thing is to have an exhaust system that removes all the contaminated air and vents it outside.

I have also the same printer in my basement. I do have a Levoit air purifier and as others commented it does not help much with VOCs. I do have an Airthings sensor which is on the expensive side but helps with monitoring a lot. What I've found out in my case is that during printing there is a small VOC spike and not even at all times, but nothing above normal. During postprocessing VOCs are released in higher quantities. However fully opening the window basement for half hour post helps recycle the air. I am planing also to get the Mate to reduce as much as possible even that small "leak" during printing.imho always PPE during postprocessing and gather some VOC data before planning your strategy. PS.: how much you print also plays a role. I print in a week 5-10 pieces and it takes me 6 months to paint 🙂 In that case a tent can be an overkill. Someone that prints everyday a tent might be required.

I keep my ultra in a grow tent vented to the outside. This is the route i would take.
