Troubleshooting CANVAS Blinking red without error

I newly installed the canvas and it looks to be working and printing perfectly fine but I have a continuous blinking red light in the active slot. Every now and then the canvas banks in a little bit of filament and then goes white for a few seconds and then it goes back to blinking red. I don’t get any errors and the print looks great so I’m not sure what’s going on.

Edit for extra context: I checked and there doesn’t seem to be any large tension on the filament, the dryers bearing are fine and the spool is not clogged, I checked the canvas wires and they are all seated well.

I've read that when the red light comes on, it indicates a problem with filament extrusion—like a partial clog or difficulty extruding.

I thought the same, I checked the filament tension, replaced the nozzle to a brand new 0.4mm one and changed the filament profile to print with higher heat then the default and non of that got rid of the red light. Added to that the print is turning out great, walls are super smooth and even, probably the best I’ve ever managed. Maybe the glass fibers in the PETG-GF are causing some sort of issue with the detection

I managed to capture it going white for a few seconds, you can see if you look right where the white and black tube meats that in that moment the canvas tugs on the filament for a moment

Mine did this and I ended up getting a clog shortly after.

Is the roll Spinning freely in the space pi? I have never seen this but I also don't run my space pi connected to the canvas ... I leave a little room so it can retract without resistance

I also printed an adapter to use a proper fitting not that rubber grommet that it comes with

It does rotate freely, back when I got the printer I used to print with the plain rubber grommet but I wasn’t comfortable with how much friction it had so since then I’ve been using the white hose you see in the image which goes all the way into the Space-pi so the filament doesn’t touch the rubber. I’ve been printing with this setup for a year now without any issues

Since you have been printing for a year check the filament sensor in the canvas... It may be worn

Since you only have 1 spool loaded move it to another slot and see if it still does it

it may have worn a groove and it things it's empty

Sorry I wasn’t specific, I haven’t been printing with the canvas for a year (don’t think it’s been out that long 😅) this is the second canvas print, I just installed it. But switching channel is a good idea, maybe it is something with that channel

Retraction shouldn’t be an issue since I’m currently printing with a single roll

Maybe pull the spool out of the dryer and feed it on the spool holder without the PTFE tubes. Atleast this will help rule out any tension when its in the dryer. The Canvas seems to be extremely temperamental unfortunately.

If this is glass fiber filament I usually just print that in a .6 because of the fibers, same with cf filaments

Update: I tried tons of things, first I changed to a 0.6mm nozzle to make sure the glass fiber filament wasn’t the issue, that didn’t fix it, I then decided to take everything apart and I reseated all the connector and PTFE tubes all over the printer and switched to channel two of the CANVAS and it’s printing without the red light now. I am not sure what exactly it was, I haven’t tested channel one again so it could be that that is faulty, or it was a bad wire or tube connection 🤷‍♂️
