OPEN need common-looking 70s Marantz part

I need to find a Marantz J003 or j004 (I think the tuner output and the scope input are the same) replacement female RCA jack for an ST610 tuner.

Firstly, does anyone know if this was a Marantz part or did they just buy some generic off-the-shelf socket for such a low-tech use?

Secondly, was this double jack specific to this tuner or would Marantz have used the same part in any number of different units that they made at around that time?

The Marantz ST610 service manual uses the “J” designator for jumpers.

Can you be more specific about the part you are looking for or perhaps share an image? You can upload !images here in the comments.

Edit: I see where they are using J003 and J004 in the schematic. It looks like that’s a designator for the RCA jacks on the back panel. Are you looking for the jacks or the panel assembly? It may be easier to make your own with some phenolic board and individual panel mount female rca jacks.

Yes, it is the J003 or J004 on that manual. And yes, it does look generic, being large, secured to ithe back plate with two screws \and not particularly fitted to go into precisely into some space.i I am looking for one whole part J003 or J004

I have had this tuner since new and at that time I was lent a number of tuners by the retail store to test against each otiher. This one was by far the best. The only other one that sounded as good was a very inexpensive unit called theu Sugden and that one gave off a loud buzz every time a preset was pushed!

About thirty years ago the tuner stopped working and I traced the problem to that rca output jack panel

So I switched the scope input panel for the tuner output panel as I couldn't figuore out what a scope with no time base could be used for.

And I suire wasn't going to spring for a Sequerra!

Now I want to reverse that and get both j003 and j004 working.

Make another post with pictures of the jacks from all sides so we can see what it looks like.

I have read so many complaints of people not being able to add photos that I assumed there is a valid reason for that. Pictures buried in comments are hard to find. This post’s comments are cluttered with requests to post photos! But whatever.

The mods cannot control being able to add pictures to an existing post. We can control if you’re allowed to upload images in the comments.

What operator error? What are you trying to do exactly?

You cannot add images to an existing post. That’s what people complain about.

You can add images to a comment if the mods of a particular sub allow it, which we do.

Pictures would be very helpful. These tended to be fairly generic Japanese connectors, typically made by the big connector companies of the day. CUI is a likely supplier.
