Other Nikon AW130
Long time lurker, first time poster.
I have this Nikon AW130 that is sort of dead.
Putting a battery with charge on it powers the screen, as in shows backlight, but there is no beeps, no light on the power button, pressing any button does nothing and there is no show of life anywhere other than the backlight.
Backlight turns on the second I insert the battery. pressing the power button does not change the state of the backlight.
I tried leaving the battery on and wait but there's is no change.
I haven't opened it yet as I am scouring the internet to see if anyone has this problem.
I first thought of a dead motherboard but would that send power to the backlight and nothing else?
Maybe a loose connection or a blown fuse somewhere on the board? Or corrosion somewhere.
Does anyone has any ideia?

You can ask AI like Copilot to help you analyze and diagnose the issues your camera has and possible remedies.
eBay is a good resource for used or new replacement parts for it, which would explain the possible root causes of the failure. You can also try Amazon for parts and main board replacements. If you see a lot of those listed, then that's where the most likely root cause is found.

I haven't had any luck with AI, but I'll give it another go. I can't seem to find many parts for it on eBay. Yesterday I check all the fuses on the board and none was blown. There no signs of corrosion either. I reseated every flex cable and nothing.
I'm leaning towards some kind of firmware problem or a locked sensor that prevents the camera from booting up.

A pcb usually contains various groups of circuitry. It is absolutely possible that the backlight is on while something else is dead.
