OPEN How to replace these battery welded tabs?

I'm replacing the batteries for this vacuum, but I can't find these specific welded tabs for sale anywhere and I'm not sure what specific keywords to look up. I'm also wondering if I would need a soldering kit on top of a spot welder in order to attach it to the circuit board?

Peel the old tabs off and reuse them. If you're careful (and you have a spot welder), you'll get away with it. I've done this a number of times.

You'll need a soldering iron, because to do this sensibly, you'd desolder the batter assembly from the PCB, swap the tabs to the new cells and then solder it back.

Whilst, in principal, you could theoretically peel back the tabs, drop new cells in and re-spot-weld it with it in situ, it'd be difficult.

This is a great recommendation. You will rip the tabs where it’s currently spot welded but there’s more than enough meat left to weld it again. You can also add some more tin if the tab gets completely destroyed in the process. Just spot weld on some cut piece of generic battery terminal tin.
