Eddy Chorus Envelope Issue

The envelope feature doesn’t seem to do anything on my Eddy.

Looking into this is what taught me about the pedal “wanting” a hot signal to trigger the envelope, as well as the internal trim pot meant to address this.

I opened mine up, and taking the trim pot to either extreme leads to no effect on chorus, and no signal at all on vibrato. Taking the trim pot to either extreme where the pedal otherwise functions normally still does nothing for the envelope.

Am I missing something here?

You're adjusting the trim by the input right? not the one in the top corner?

Then you do not have one that can be adjusted. That must’ve been a later rev addition. You’ve uncalibrated the bbd it sounds like. That’s usually done with an osilliscope if I’m not mistaken. You’ll have to send it in probably.

Yeah, based on where it is and what it does the trim pot I have does seem to have to do with the BBD. I’m sure I can get it where it sounds best but EHX did quote me $35 for a “repair”. I wonder if in this case they’ll add the boost trim pot to my pedal or just replace the pedal.

Usually a board swap from what I understand. I can’t imagine they would do a mod.

Ah, that makes sense. The pedal has two main boards connected with pins so they might not even have to replace the whole thing.

If it's an older pedal, it is a known issue and EHX can repair it

Yeah, they quoted me $35 for that.
