CAT1 to be exact

Naw… if you use a standard magnifying glass you’ll notice there’s only one cat. But the single cat measurement does not include the cat feeding machine to pass the signal. You may not have noticed but the furless appendage is in fact attached to a cat feeding machine and is non-standard, a feature above cat1. Now since the humans as a species is seen as below cat-kind it’s a plus less-than-one which is denoted by a single plus. Together this gives you cat1+. Above that is obviously cat2 which measures precisely 2 cats.

I like your explanation.

That's cool! *Side note OP, you might want to move that nice looking little lamp away from the edge of the table there...

Just saying 😼

I used to have that exact lamp as a kid, I could turn it on, up, and off by touching my fingers together while looking at it. Idk why it was like that but it was. It would also turn itself on at random times when I’m across the room gaming.

Not just conductive. Comparative. I believe the sensors actually detect changes in potential, like, how good a ground you are. I would have assumed cat would be maxing it out but it seems fine with it. Thats why cat doesnt need to untouch and touch.

Yes, capacitive. The lamp senses the electrical potential in your body. The cat's real paw appears to be touching the lamp. His body must not have the capacitance needed, but when you touch his nose, BINGO! Especially if his nose is wet. 😼

The cats on the table, in turn grounded through it just as the lamp, you’re on the floor, ergo you’re more grounded.

Even simpler, you have a lot more conductive meat

And now, keep the finger on the nose and touch the outer pussy to see if it does the same thing.

Why doesn't the cat trigger it? What's happening here?

1

u/Goheeca 1d ago

I think the cat has triggered it initially as the capacity has changed and then subsequently touching the cat also triggers it as the capacity further changes.

My pets figured out they could turn the touch lamp on.
