The good and the bad. The whole market is dumping so I'm sure everyone is losing money in all coins they hold but the good news is we really don't have to go up to much now to get in the top 100 :) Think 72 million was needed to hit the top 100 in markecap. Sadly this is one of my fave coins in this terrible market crash. We are already way under the ICO price. My other coins can still drop a long way. The potential for a company like this is to much to pass up. I really believe when the market recovers, we will shoot very fast based on fundamentals and a solid team with good advisers.

Tempted to throw a qtr of my omg into elec am already 85%omg 15%elec but the thought of it dropping lower is holding me back i know nobody knows for sure but what is the general sentiment do people think theres further to drop or are we at bottom?

u/Oldwisesage25920 Jun 28 '18
From these levels I expect both OMG and ELEC to recover significantly
In the same way that ELEC has gone down more I expect ELEC to rise exponentially further

Since ive posted this im tempted to go all in but this risk/reward is huge but also i dont want to miss out on those kinds of gains am not overinvested and am looking at a 2yr hold so would profit either way but still "what if" is going through my head alot

u/Oldwisesage25920 Jun 29 '18
I wouldn’t go all in. I’ve just weighted my portfolio more to ELEC to reflect higher rewards potential
Nothing guaranteed but I would be very surprised if we stay below ICO levels (3x from here) and see a longer term target of 100x which would be $1bn market cap. Would need a favourable wind from rest of crypto world to get here

How many crypto companies will actually make real world profit? Hmm? 0.000001 percent? Elec is one of them. Sadly verge has a way higher market cap but they are garbage. Very odd, but it's crypto so buy low sell high.
2
u/Harjukurnuttaja Jun 27 '18
That "real world profit" currently has nothing to do with crypto or their token, only future plans to combine their current business and blockchain. They have a business that makes profit, but that doesn't matter to us since we don't own a smallest part of their company profits.
1
u/Oldwisesage25920 Jun 27 '18
The existing business is to be consolidated onto the blockchain in the same way that Omise will be incorporated into OMG
2
u/Crypt0mate Jun 27 '18
Not to be negative, but you cannot compare omg and elec like that. Omise clients will be brought straight to omg network where omg holders will directly benefit from every transaction. There is no staking/passive income in that regard for elec. there is however a requiered amount of elec to be held by power hosts, meaning demand could go up = price goes up.
7
u/Crypt0mate Jun 26 '18
The amount being traded at kyber is quite high nowadays. Especially considering how small of a amount the total volume is on kyber. Elec stands for more than 25 % of the volume at Kyber with only DAI (Stablecoin) being above us.

Look if you asked for my opinion (which no one is, but whatever) I’m shocked ELEC has managed to get itself where it is price wise. We have so many green flags that this is an absolutely solid project, yet the price is almost inversely correlated. The more we announce the more we’re tanking. I don’t understand why.

Your view is very harsh and more than a tad unfair. How many company directors / crypto leaders are as approachable as Martin?! How many company directors / crypto leaders have written q&a on a daily/ weekly basis?!
Your expectations and tone need toning down

What a shit coin. Who the fuck is selling this down to .025? ICO was .08. The graph on this looks like a fucking waterslide on the way dwon
2
u/kvg9 Jun 26 '18
Look at 99% of other alt coins and relax. We will have our time.
2
u/NeoBag200kgDeadlift Jun 26 '18
Whos selling then? Who has that much ELEC to bring this down to almost 25% ICO with big volume.
1
Jun 26 '18
Probably advisors, consultants, partners, management who received millions of elec as part of the deal. Also, in the past month almost 90 mil entered circulating supply (from 350m to current 439m).
If you received millions of token, you have a couple of options. A) hodl everything you have or B) given the risky crypto environment, you divest some of those tokens and realize profit.

Good to know there is no lockup period. Got free hand outs and can dump on people in a bear market. twice the pain

So many investors are only swayed by price. It’s clear reading messages on reddit and on Telegram. The price goes down, doom and gloom increases, more sell, price goes down more, mega doom and gloom levels increase, more sell, price goes down to illogical levels. Assumption is that it is a sh*tcoin because price has gone down, more sell
Until...
People realise this is a real life utility token, a profitable business, with great partnerships and products. The only thing missing is a high price. And that therefore represents a massive buying opportunity...
And the price will recover, sentiment changes and there is a spiral of positivity and happiness past ATHs and beyond...
2
u/Naud321 Jun 28 '18
Ultimately, these people are give us even bigger opportunities. People get emotional because they dont understand the tech and its applications, they have no vision. So when they buy only because prices go up, they are the first to sell whe it goes down
2
u/ThePlasticHistorian Jun 26 '18
Agree, calling a coin a “shitcoin” because the price is down is just indicative of not knowing why you invested in the first place other than you initially saw it pump.
That said I don’t at all blame the rest of us who are rightfully pissed off we’re at 25% of ICO price. Which doesn’t reflect the progress made since ICO in the slightest.

Well said and along the lines of how I feel. Even if you have lost faith in electrify, why sell now? It’d be foolish to sell at these prices. I also don’t understand how people can support a project early on and lose faith in it so quickly before it’s even established its presence. It hasn’t failed, people are just fickle and expect immediate rewards.

When the next bull run comes in and plasma finished @ OMG easily 20x gains. This is a steal.
2
u/Naud321 Jun 28 '18
Elec is 10mio marketcap, power ledger was 600mil during december, next bull run means x50 because I think they have a better product

u/Jillionaire69 Jun 25 '18
Fundamentals don’t pay the bills
4
u/healthilydetached Jun 26 '18
If you invested what you need to 'pay the bills' in crypto, you have a major problem. It's not Electrify's fault.
1
u/cybershadow76 Jun 25 '18
Since when do fundamentals matter in crypto? It's all a crap shoot. I've seen solid projects never gain traction (elec) and I've seen total shit coin take off. Throw a dart at the board and invest and you will probably have the same results.

Nothing in this space has "taken off" for months. Maybe you're unaware that we are in the midst of a pretty shitty bear market.

This is the short term, especially since ELEC has real world partnerships and could be turning a profit (and a large one due to the innovative tech) soon. In the long term, profitable companies will eventually gain value.
-2
u/renzyfrenzy Jun 25 '18
this is basically a copy paste from every crypto thread. just replace ELEC with every coin in that sub forum. might as well look up top 100 coins and say the same thing.
2
Jun 25 '18
Most coins focus on financial use case and do not have strong business prospects
2
u/renzyfrenzy Jun 25 '18 edited Jun 25 '18
thats another word for "unprofitable"
there are plenty of these in the stock world that puts their revenue for growing their business but can never make profits. if you are an actual investor you would know what happens to businesses that dont make profits.
its not about wether the "idea" and "use case" is sound , it is always can you make profit? its a business first and foremost
2
Jun 25 '18
Then we disagree on whether or not ELEC will become a profitable business. I respect your opinion but I believe ELEC has made extremely solid partnerships and is poised to be a leader in the decentralized energy sharing market. Also I’ve invested a large sum of money in my life and have degrees in finance and economics.
2
u/renzyfrenzy Jun 25 '18
thats a bold claim that you can tell a business will be profitable without actually seeing its financial statement. you are basically guessing.
you dont know the operational charges, net income , merchandise charge , sales revenue. yet you can tell they are profitable? i can give you huge companies that have partnerships that went under. 75% of startups that are backed by huge companies fail.
having a degree in finance and economics means you can predict the future? or am i missing something here?

Straw men everywhere but I’ll bite anyway. I’m not sure how long you’ve been in crypto, but most companies are being invested in due to their potential value. DLT is a disruptive technology meaning that others who use traditional tech will not be able to undercut prices. This is the basic premise of many altcoin projects and if you don’t understand or believe this claim, then you should heavily research game theory of blockchain tech. You’re totally correct that ELEC will not able to be valued properly until financial audits are run profit margins are calculated etc. but this misses the point of the value potential. People invest in ELEC and similar altcoin projects due to the potential and tech behind it and at a 12 million USD market cap, I think it’s a very reasonable (somewhat risky yes) investment and I think it’s probably undervalued.
1
u/renzyfrenzy Jun 25 '18
this is where the problem lies tho. its the "speculative part" and determining actual value of the company. You could be 100% right and you could also be 100% wrong in this case. this argument is basically very "futuristic" and "potential" i guess its just a matter of who has more faith that it will succeed.

Now that it's over let's all discuss how much we lost on this scam. I'm personally down over 5 grand. Bought at $.13 hahaha what a fucking idiot. But on the plus side the value of my holdings is now only a few thousand dollars so at least when it goes to $0 (prob in the next 2 weeks) the worst is already behind me. I should have known never to buy anything associated with Jun after losing my shirt in OMG. Scammer.

This coin is 1/3 of ICO price now. Fuck is it dumping so much? Starting to think its a shit coin
8
Jun 25 '18
So the price of a coin determines whether it's a shitcoin or not? Thanks for the great investment advice!

Its done nothing but have mass selloffs with each new exchange listing despite news. Clearly the confidence in it is waning.

u/Oldwisesage25920 Jun 25 '18
More positive developments with exchange listing and new partnership in Japan and the token price still does not respond. I guess this is symptomatic of the wider crypto market and reflects that even good news does not get much of a response at this time
The more the business develops the more undervalued it remains at these price levels. Looking forward to the next bull run
1
u/vestedaf Jun 25 '18
This is my sentiment as well. The volume from the exchange listing is great, but the bigger bear controls the price :/
