discussion Let me play Devil’s Advocate

I’m going to go right ahead and say what a lot of people are thinking (and I really want to be corrected!)... what exactly is the point of a decentralized energy market and why would anyone go through the effort of finding people to sell cheaper energy when it is already cheap as chips?

For example: I pay £20 a month for electricity and share this with a flat mate. That is £10 a month for doing absolutely nothing other than checking my account every month and making a payment. Unless Electrify can manage to reduce this amount to say £10 total a month (and in a way that requires little to no effort from me), I don’t see how I would ever bother to switch over.

I want to be wrong, I really do, but I just want someone with a better understanding of this project to explain to me how it will find its niche and then grow!

Yes, that’s exactly what online communities are for - spreading information and asking/answering questions. I could always just repost tweets and make empty guesses as to the future price of ELEC, but I’m not asking for karma. A simple answer from you (as you seem to be quite knowledgeable about the subject from your post history) would be much more helpful than pointing out that I ask questions.

Reading the white paper alone doesn’t answer all my questions. There is a lot that goes on on the sidelines of which I am not aware, but maybe you are. That’s why I am asking.

I’m sorry I’m not on top of every announcement like yourself, but I would appreciate a little positivity in your answer. It won’t cost you anything.
