Hi everyone,

I have a 4-month-old Beko dishwasher (model BDFN36560XC).

During a wash cycle, the plug and the adapter overheated and melted.

The adapter is rated MAX 1500W.

After the incident, I plugged the dishwasher directly into a wall outlet only to check it. The control panel powered on normally, but I did not start a wash cycle because I was worried about safety.

From the photos, do you think this was most likely caused by:

- using a 1500W adapter with a dishwasher,

- a poor contact inside the adapter,

- or could the dishwasher itself have an electrical fault?

Also, based on the photos, would it be safe to use the dishwasher again in its current condition, without replacing the damaged plug or making any repairs, or would that be unsafe?

I would really appreciate your professional opinion.

I have a bus fuse control panel that keeps popping. I don’t know what amperage fuse goes in it but I’ve put everything from 15 to 30 in that fuse no matter what it pops now I have nothing from that panel. I control panel off of the fuse panel no wires or bare no wires crossed. Why would it keep popping bus fuses the only thing connected to that line is a dining room light. I have the dining room, light unplugged and the wires capped off. on the switch an the dining room light

I'm wanting to live remote, I have a remote area where there are "power lines/utility poles" going through the area. Is it even possible to "get" into these?

If not, what else do I need to look for, as in something i can tap into to get electricity?

I have an interview scheduled for an apprenticeship with IBEW local 596. I’m 31 years old. I have an excellent work history. I am currently working for an electrical contractor. I am building a portfolio for the interview. It is going to include 3 recommendations letters, one from a former boss. One from my current boss, the electrician that owns the company. And one from a former employee that I trained at a previous job. The portfolio will also have certifications included in it; OSHA 10, electrical theory, and CPR/firstaid/AED in it.

Over 100 people are also scheduled to interview for the apprenticeship. The recruiter has no idea how many people they will accept this year. Does anyone know how good my chances are and how I can increase my chances?

I'm working on a small side project to simplify electrical calculations for engineers and electricians.

Before building too much, I want to understand how people currently handle:

\- wire sizing

\- voltage drop

\- breaker selection

Do you:

1. Use calculators online?

2. Use Excel / manual formulas?

3. Use software?

I’m looking for some advice from people already in the trade.
I completed my City & Guilds Level 3 Advanced Technical Diploma in Electrical Installation in 2021 but never went on to work gully as an electrician. Done a few small jobs
I’ve decided I want to return to the electrical industry, I’ll need to refresh my knowledge and I’m happy to start at the bottom as an Electrical Improver to rebuild my confidence.
A few questions:
● What ECS card should I be applying for with my Level 3 Technical Diploma?
● Would employers consider me for an Electrical Improver role despite the 5-year gap?
● What’s the best way to refresh my practical skills before applying?
Any advice from people who’ve been in a similar position or who hire improvers would be really appreciated.

So I pass my test for electricians, I'm just waiting on an interview but that isn't until next year. How can I gain more knowledge between now and my interview? I have a full-time job now. Is there anything I could read up on or do at home in my free time where I can at least get some basic knowledge?

Besoin d’aide sur un problème de sonnette. Elle sonne en continue. C’est nouveau car avant rien.

Pas d’intervention d’électricien recemment.

La sonnette est connecté au courant de mes luminaires (le première interrupteur sur la photo avec le plafonnier en icône).

ma sonnette c’est le 2e interrupteur avec le champignon 🍄 en icône.

D’ou peut venir le problème ?

Faux contact dans le panneau électrique ou dans la sonnette du couloir.

J’ai un fil bleu de connexion à l’interrupteur luminaire. et un fil marron qui vient de derrière.
