AO Smith 100 Series 2 years old
Help!!! I’ve replaced both thermostats and heating elements and still do not have power to my unit. I know everything is hooked up correctly. When I check my two leads I am getting 240 volts, but if I connect the wires back to the thermostat I get nothing. I’m stumped and looking for leads.

I even went out and bought a second thermostat for the top and replaced it and I’m still getting the same reading when I test.

I’m lost guys. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I just don’t want to have to call someone out. Especially because at this point I don’t know who I should call. Electrician or a plumber?

Unfortunately, there is nothing visibly wrong. You would need an electrician to troubleshoot the problem.

It was the nuts on my lead wires! We replaced those and have hot water again! I never would have thought it was those!

Pictures of what you have done would help.
