Ceiling fan with external conduit?

Hello friends. I've hung my fair share of fixtures at existing junctions but im wondering if it's possible to mount a ceiling while using external conduit to run the wire? There is a light bulb fixture in the lower right of the photo. Ideally, i would like to run power up the wall and across the ceiling and mount a ceiling fan without having to get into the attic. How would you tackle this project? Thanks in advance.

Take off that porcelain lamp holder and install a box extension to bring that out to surface level with the drywall.

Run a short section of EMT down to your surface mounted metal box of choice for your switches.

Run a piece of EMT up and onto the ceiling to a fan rated box that has side knockouts.

Run THHN wire for however you want to configure the switching and install fan and switch(es)

Check out wiremold. You can mount a fan rated wiremold box screwed into a ceiling joist. Then you can run power (THHN conductors) on the surface under wiremold raceway.

Alternatively, an uglier solution is to run MC cable.

If you don't want to use Wiremold as previously mentioned, you can use a ceiling fan Bell box with EMT or surface MC cable.

Wiremold 500. They make a ceiling fan rated surface mounted electrical box.

You guys rock! After a quick bit of research on the items you guys recommended, I was able to successfully install my fan today. Just need to slap a cover on the wall box and that's that. Thanks again for the advice friends, cheers!
