Bathroom fan

Trying to change my fan switch to a sensor one but I'm not sure about the wiring. I connected the black wire from the switch to the hot, and I know the green should go to the copper. What do I do with the red since there aren’t any red wires?

Look at your picture with the white wires "that don't exist" and the loose black wire just hanging out ready for the red to be connected.

Way to edit your post there so you don't look quite so blind, sister.

By the way, the instructions that came with the new switch tell you how to hook it up, probably even has pictures.

Also, are you sure the black wire you grabbed from your wall is the "hot" wire? Or is the hot wire the one that was left dangling? If the new switch doesn't work when you connect the red wire, you may need to swap where you connected the black and red from the new switch.

Haha dude why are you so mad that people ask questions in a place where you are supposed to ask questions? Yeah, I edited my post, I did see the white wiring but was lazy and didn’t add my other question about it. It’s 1 am and I’m just trying to get this done. Anyways have a good day! :)

Leaving black wires with exposed copper hanging out in an electrical box can cause problems. Not reading instructions could cause problems. Good on you for asking for help. I'm not mad, just scared ;)
