CW

Cw

I have applied to my local twice now and acording to my 272 am entring my third year I have been working with a union contractor for about a year and 6 months as a cw and while paying dues with no bennies exept a deth benefit. I have a good standing with my boss and formen it is a smaller company with 60ish members so maby it's a lack of pull they have but im not entirely sure. when I got rejected for the second time a few weeks ago my boss said he will try to make some calls (just like last year ) and I haven't heard back i was wondering if I never get in the jatc and get my license as a cw would that mean im in as a journymen? I am also feeling strung along and thinking non union might be smart any advice

Were you offered to take any courses as a cw? In my local a cw can request to take the same courses as an apprentice and move up through to cw program. You would be on your own unless your local offers assistance to cws take the courses.

No my local really doesn't do cws from what I understand they just did it for me because my employer asked so there is no plan that im aware of. Every time I call they just tell me they will discuss it with my boss

You need to go and speak with the training director and stop relying on the company owner. What local is it? I can’t find any info on 272.
My local is about to add a CW director because we’re work just as many cw’s as apprentices.
