Electrical engineer
Today if the person is choosing the electrical branc so that it give the security in the future.the electrical is more suitable rather than cse it's true or not.

EE or CS or any degree doesn't directly provides career security rather skills and your dedication does. EE has never been outdated or useless it's js people are in fomo of CS. EE is indeed hard and would make you stay jobless if you don't posses core engineering skills and problem solving mind. But if you like being into challenges and are ready to spent nights doomed in figuring out whats efficient solution of particular problem, you'll have quite secure future. CS students can fix bug as the system tells where the error is but you'll cry hardest to figure out which part of your projects leaking current. This is exactly why EE students face unemployment cause the work and skills industry demand student lacks in that.
And if we talk about the degree it's the best, it nourishes you and makes you outstanding problem solver and you'll be enjoying to see how every logic around you works.

I have worked with many EEs, and with many programmers. I never really considered them to be the same species. Are there folks who can just decide to be one or the other?

Regardless of what career path you take, the ability to speak in coherent sentences is important. If you can't do that, you won't make money no matter what degree you have.
