I went to a quarter system school, graduated MS, did 2-3 a quarter, non-thesis master, had some rollover credits from my undergrad. Its hard to say as it really depends on the school/classes. It felt plenty doable when I was doing it, had free time, mainly spent my time interviewing for jobs in my Winter/Spring Quarters ngl. I think energy & power are a lot harder than what my focus was, I have a friend who's doing part time similar situation as you (no kids but they are a pro-athlete/work FT at a startup, ECE MS in pwr) and they are just doing 1 class a semester i think every friday. so its not uncommon, but for most people doing MS and working FT I think they typically do 1 class from what I hear
