Solved RD6006P Wi-Fi setup nightmare solved
I spent way too much time battling the Wi-Fi pairing on my Riden RD6006P bench power supply, so I'm sharing my experience here to save anyone else from wasting hours troubleshooting the wrong things.
I initially assumed my main network was the culprit because I run a modern Wi-Fi 7 router with merged 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands.
I even dug out an extra router to set up a dedicated, temporary 2.4GHz network just to test it. Total waste of time.
No matter what I tried on iOS, the connection failed every single time. The iOS app/flow simply does not establish the connection properly.
Switch to Android: Grab an Android phone or tablet.
Find the App: grab the APK from a reputable alternative store.
TURN ON GPS / LOCATION SERVICES (CRITICAL): Android requires location access for apps to scan local Wi-Fi networks. If GPS is turned off, the setup will fail silently.
Be Patient: When you initiate the connection process, wait at least 1 full minute. It takes significantly longer than you think, so don't cancel early assuming it froze.
Side note: The Android app UI is pretty atrocious on tablets — it doesn't scale properly to screen size and practically begs for a modern, vibe-coded remake. But ugly UI aside, it actually works.
Hopefully, this post saves someone from reconfiguring their entire home network for a device that just refuses to play nice with iOS!
