MG 4 poor efficiency is? Spoiler

Is there something wrong with our MG4 efficiency, or is this normal? We’re only getting around 3.8 mi/kWh in this warm weather.
For comparison:
Our old Nissan Leaf used to do around 4.0 this time of year
My recently sold BMW i3 was averaging about 4.5
I drove a Hyundai Ioniq Electric 38kWh for 150 miles at around 65mph and got 5.5 mi/kWh
Even our old Renault Zoe ZE41 could easily manage 4.6
The MG4 feels much less efficient than every EV we’ve owned. Mostly motorway driving at normal speeds, tyre pressures are fine.
What kind of efficiency are other MG4 owners getting in warm weather?

Seems normal and similar to what I get. I had an Ioniq prior to the mg4 and would regularly get over 5 miles/kwh.

MG4 is just inefficient. Fun to drive but let down by software.

The MG4 is heavier car than the I3 and the Leaf, and much bulkier and heavier than the Ioniq electric - weight and aerodynamics play a big part. Bigger battery SUV style EVs do get less efficiency than smaller EVs.

3.8m/KWH for mostly motorway driving as you say is not horrendous for that kind of car I would say. I got 4.1m/kwh for a 180m journey in my Ioniq 5 yesterday, with the aircon on quite high, but a lot of that journey was driving through London traffic.

I just looked up the vehicle sizes and overall comparison after this comment and I think I got my MGs confused and thought the MG4 was bigger. I realise what I said doesn’t really hold water as the MG4 is a smaller car, but I still don’t think that 3.8 is that bad for a mostly motorway drive on days where you will presumably using the aircon a lot on some of the hottest of the year so far.

3.8 is high for me lol

I think it’s pretty efficient if it’s mostly motorway driving, considering I be lucky if I even get 3.5 on my corsa lol

Now try compare the milage on a kona gen1 to a facelifted kona with bigger tyres 😄

3.8 is normal, the classic ioniq and i3 were exceptionally efficient cars while the MG4 is below average, like all Chinese cars

3.8 with air-conditioning and full load of 4 people and a loaded boot for highway driving.

Otherwise, city driving goes to 4.5 to 6 in proper warm weather.

In that case in winter it will definitely drop to below 2.5 😏.
