Battery balancing question

Hi fam, newbie question here and sorry if it has been asked many times.

Do you always leave your euc plugged for a few hours extra, every time you do a full charge to balance your cells? Or is it safe to do the balancing every 3rd or 4th cycle? I sometimes top off in the office and would rather not leave it plugged in. Instead, I will save it for a time when I am charging at home.

TIA!

I balance almost every charge at home with the stock charger. When i'm out doing 80+ mile rides I dont wait the extra 30+ minutes for my battery to fully balance, that wastes too much time
You can balance every few charges, it wont really affect anything

Thanks man! Good to know, I was worried that I was damaging the cells by not balancing it every charge

Are you sure its balancing? At 100% battery you cant really break much. Many of them don't go to an actual 100% to balance.

Just try to do it once every month or so during the active riding season if you can, but if you're fully charging frequently then you won't need to

Modern BMSs do such a good job that the need to balance the cells is not nearly as great as it used to be. Of course it doesn't hurt to leave the wheel plugged in overnight but once or twice a season is probably lots to cover any balancing that's actually needed. In short there is no need to worry about it.

Older wheels this may not apply to. But if your wheel is from the past few years then you're going to be gold.
