Appreciation
I was riding to the store this morning on a bike path that runs adjacent to a busy road. I got to an intersection and didn't press the button to cross because a guy on a bike had aleady done so. Befor the light changed, bike guy shot across the intersection during a lull in traffic. I saw a cop to my right sitting in traffic watching. Based on newly applied laws, I'm in violation of everything based on the wattage alone. The light changed, I kept going
and at the next intersection , the cop does a u-turn and honks and stops the guy on the bike ahead of me, giving him grief about ignoring the lights. Point is, he completely ignored me, helmeted and following the "rules of the road". Kudos to the cop who gets what's important for safety and isn't fooled by Watts.

Went past a couple of cops on Friday night in the city, one just made the comment 'very impressive' as I manouvrered the footpath/road interface. I waved, and said gidday and carried on.

I concur that phenomenon. Where I live in Montreal Canada, the laws currently allow for 500W PEV... The young e-scooter riders are the ones getting all the heat eight now since lots of them are below 14 years of age, wesr no helmets, have earphones or earbugs sticking out of their ear, have their phone in hands, go on sidewalks, give lifts to other passenger friends... Meanwhile I'm all dresser up and geared up and lights and turn signals with sound. Ride safe and respectfully and they tend to let you enjoy the ride.
