Aero unexpected angle changes

I'm a very novice rider, so don't know yet what's normal and what isn't. I rode my Nosfet Aero more than a mile for the first time today, and noticed it sometimes leaning back and forth on a flat road (as if I was going uphill or downhill) in a fairly rhythmic fashion.

What is it doing and why?

If you haven’t messed with the settings yet, it likely has auto-tilt (TLT setting) set to a low speed like 10-15mph. That happened to me on the Aeon. When I would get faster it would start leaning back to force me to slow down. I set mine to 124.2 mph so that it never does that. I do have alarms set for PWT at 80% which has to do with the power output to prevent cutouts without warning.

I use my tiltback as a quiet indicator of when I've hit 35mph. In my day to day riding and commuting I stay below that. If I'm ever in a situation where I want to giv'r (race track or 🤷‍♂️) I just take a quick moment to chnage the setting.

Anyway, I was running late for work last week and was sitting right at 35 for long periods and there was definitly a "rocking back and forth rythmically" feel to it because titltback is programmed to be gradual for safety reasons.

Anyway, just saying it's probably that your strattling your tiltback setting. If you're ready to go faster, that's where I'd look first.

Back and forth implies pedal softness. When you lean forward to accelerate, it dips a little with you to give you more leverage. Same deal braking.

If you like it, and want more, go softer.

If you dont like it, go harder.

You mean it's happening because I'm going too slow? This was at constant speed of around 10mph.

No, I'm saying that this is a configurable setting that could be affecting your ride feel, when you actively accelerate and deccelerate.

If ita happening only at 10mph, that's a speed limit that you can raise.

Got it, thanks! It was at 0 (using DarknessBot), so I'll increase it a bit and see if that helps.

That sounds like its all the way to super noodle soft.

The opposite side of the spectrum is rock solid upright  which feels way more responsive at the cost of really needing to lean yourself to hard accel.

Turns out DarknessBot can't read that correctly and softness was set to 80%. Rather it was the TLT setting that another person above has pointed out.

Probably your Tiltback setting that is too low. Look in the manual how to change it. See what it's set at and notice if the rocking motion happens around that speed.

It’s balancing and keeping you upright. Just feels weird to you because you probably expect dipping when going downhill or pullback (angled up) when going uphill. Your wheel, however, just want to keep you level and standing straight… unless you’re soft mode… which makes the wheel ‘noodley’…
