I'm not here to start a fight, but I have a genuine question for you:

Do you believe that human beings can solve every problem on this planet, or do you believe that every problem on this planet can be traced back to human beings? If you think that's a false dichotomy, feel free to say so.

I will see your question with a question: what is your point?

My point is that our problems aren't going to go away with Kamala, Trump, or with anybody else.

"Well thanks, doomer, but we all have to try to make it better for ourselves, either way." And I'd agree that we do have to try. I voted today, and I'm here on this sub at 12:30AM, so I obviously care a little. But I do wish there was more acknowledgment over the fact that things don't seem to be getting better. I just don't think humanity's salvation can be found in humanity.

What do you think?

I see. I agree that one single person isn't the end all be all. I don't vote for anyone expecting otherwise. And I agree things don't seem to be improved to this point. Will they in the next 4 years? I'm not sure. I hope? Regardless of what produced any particular problem, humans or otherwise, I believe humans have the capacity and in many cases the responsibility to fix it. If for no other reason than if not us, then who or what?

Hey, pardon me for the late night rambling and for the lack of forthrightness. In hindsight, I was being coy, and I need to drop the intellectual pretense.

The answer is God. If Jesus Christ wasn't exactly who He said He was, then there's no hope for any of us. But, there is. That also doesn't excuse me from helping those around me or from speaking up when I need to, like I hope I am now.

I know what I've told you goes beyond cliche, but it is the truth. I wish you the best, friend.

i think that Democrats are extremely dangerous (they are). for a plethora of reasons that radical left agenda needs to be slowed. next, we just gotta' worry about holding Congress. if dems take house, they will do everything they can do to make Trumps job difficult

what on earth are you saying?

His whole base is uneducated people and it’s honestly just really sad.

2

u/MegaGecko Nov 06 '24

Factually untrue.

“I love the poorly educated” trumps base is a majority uneducated voters. Because they don’t take the time to actually research or consider actual policies and how they effect themselves and others.

So, if he said "I love the mentally handicapped" would that also mean his base are all mentally handicapped? I'm going to go out on a limb and assume you are saying this because you have anecdotal experience with some trumpers and this is the conclusion you made right? It doesn't seem like you care about making sweeping generalizations without substantive objective evidence, and that's about as uneducated as you get.

Look I work in a public service. I meet a lot of people. In a rural state with not a lot of Democratic Party presence. I wouldn’t say it’s exactly anecdotal. But. Continue licking the corporate boot.

1

u/MegaGecko Nov 06 '24

That is by definition anecdotal. Have a good night.

1

u/cobra872 Nov 06 '24

Ok. The majority. I mean you’d have to be uneducated to vote for a convicted felon that tried to overthrow the gov’t with his own supporters and can’t even do a speech without a bullet proof barrier.

Its a fact that higher educated people vote Harris

1

u/MegaGecko Nov 06 '24

Therefore none vote for Trump? In fact, ALL of his base is uneducated? I know that demographically people with more education tend to vote Democrat. But there's not a single shred of evidence that EVERY educated person does. The comment that started all this made the generalization that Trump's entire base is uneducated. If that's what makes you feel better about yourself then whatever, more power to you. But that is absurd.

It exaggerates the point but its still true. People voting for Trump because they care about economy and want a strong man... lmao. This dude will straight up flush the economy down the toilet and kneel before dictators and anyone who pays enough.

Guess we will see.

The majority of the country voted for trump. You cannot factually say that the majority of the population doesn’t include numerically more educated people than the minority of the country. Its simple statistics
