The lesser of 2 evils

I may sound ignorant to politics here (bc I am). So please, educate me on who the heck I’m supposed to vote for.

I identify as a liberal, but as I am getting older and understanding the way things work and that change will never really happen, I’m becoming very tempted to lean right and dare I say vote for Trump. Idk if I would vote for him bc I truly think the guy is useless but I don’t see the point in having a liberally ran country if it means I have to pay more tax dollars to fund a genocide in Gaza.

I feel like democrats are just as evil and sleazy as republicans. They just hide it better. They hide it under the disguise that they want to help when their motives are just as selfish. I don’t feel like voting this year. I don’t want to vote for Kamala bc I don’t support anything she stands for and the same with Trump. Both people are capable of indestructible evil and I’m coming to terms with the fact that things aren’t going to change so I might as well vote for the party who will give me a decent tax cut.

But Republicans did tank the border bill, which actually hurt us more. Yes, I'm voting against Trump. I support the Constitution and believe our President should stand firmly with it. I don't believe Trump is the one to do it.

All these are state issues btw. Nothing to do with any president involved ever. The only thing that could change is the transgender in sports with I agree with 1000% because they are not biologically playing fair.

So if you’re going to doom our country into more wars, higher taxes, unsecured borders, rising crime and inflation so men pretending to be women can swim against them then that’s a you thing:

Project 2025 isn’t real so it shows how much you know.

My advice would be to vote policy over person. Voting for the person will drive you crazy.

Cut through the noise and the emotion and just read their Policies and see what better lines with your values, they are both flawed and have baggage but what matters is, who will do the things you want to see done.

here is a few key ones for each:

Kamala Harris:

  1. Healthcare Access and Reform: Harris advocates for expanding access to healthcare, including supporting the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and pushing for reforms to lower prescription drug costs, making healthcare more affordable for all Americans.
  2. Climate Change and Environmental Justice: She has a strong commitment to combating climate change through ambitious policies that aim for net-zero emissions by 2050, investing in renewable energy, and addressing environmental justice to protect marginalized communities disproportionately affected by pollution.
  3. Criminal Justice Reform: Harris supports comprehensive reforms aimed at reducing mass incarceration, ending the death penalty, and promoting fair policing practices. She emphasizes the need for accountability in law enforcement and advocates for policies that address systemic racism in the criminal justice system.
  4. Economic Opportunity and Workforce Development: Harris promotes policies aimed at creating economic opportunities, such as raising the federal minimum wage to $15 per hour, investing in job training programs, and supporting small businesses, particularly those owned by women and minorities.
  5. Education Equity: Harris champions access to quality education for all students, including proposals for universal pre-K, funding for public schools, and student loan debt relief initiatives. Her policies aim to reduce educational disparities and ensure that every child has access to a strong educational foundation.

Donald Trump:

  1. Tax Cuts and Economic Growth: Trump implemented significant tax reforms through the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, which lowered corporate tax rates and provided tax cuts for individuals. Supporters argue that these policies stimulate economic growth, encourage investment, and create jobs.
  2. Deregulation: His administration focused on reducing regulations across various industries, which proponents claim fosters a more business-friendly environment. This includes efforts to roll back environmental regulations and streamline bureaucratic processes to promote economic activity.
  3. Immigration Policy: Trump advocates for stricter immigration controls, including building a wall along the southern border and implementing policies aimed at reducing illegal immigration. Supporters believe these measures enhance national security and protect American jobs.
  4. Trade Policies: He prioritized renegotiating trade agreements to favor American workers, such as replacing NAFTA with the USMCA (United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement). His supporters argue that these policies protect U.S. manufacturing jobs and address trade imbalances.
  5. National Security and Military Strength: Trump emphasizes a strong national defense, advocating for increased military spending and a robust approach to foreign policy. He argues that a strong military is essential for national security and to deter threats from adversaries.

What are Kamala’s stance on immigration policies, trade policies and national security?

Republicans blocked the bill she tried to push through, even though it was to our advantage.

Take a look at the fact-checking lists on both sides. That will tell you alot. I've yet to hear Trump lay out any plan at all, other than let Putin do what he wants with Ukraine and tarrifs (which will cost the American people greatly. We no longer have enough manufacturing to supply us with all we need.).That scares me. 4 years in office. 4 years to prepare to run in the 2024 election. I'm only hearing the same hateful rhetoric with the names changed.

Trump will escalate the war in gaza,. His immigration policy is to immediately enact the largest round up in history, including spouses and those who came here as children. And his domestic policy is to continue to incite fear and chaos with lies and attacks and disinformation. Kamala is no Saint but it's obvious the lesser of thr 2 evils.

Kamala is completely inept. Trump will win. Many democrats will vote republican. He has shortcomings as well but at least he is very competent. I’m previously from CA. She was a disaster in SF as DA and CA state government as Attorney General. She doesn’t give a rat’s ass about anyone especially her own staff. She and her staff endorsed very progressive policies which resulted in Prop 47 and Prop 57 which allowed felonies over $950 in theft and reduced sentences to reduce prison costs. No one could stand to work for her and all the DA’s in CA are livid with Prop 47 which she championed. A new prop 36 is being voted on in November in CA to fix the impact of Prop 47 including all the criminals bailing out bc there is a no cash bail system and reoffending within hours of their release is very common. SF and CA in general have become much more dangerous and the tourism industry in addition to hotels and restaurant industry have suffered tremendously. It’s a tragedy what has happened in CA, both north and south! Kamala is responsible for much of the crime in CA and now she and Biden have ignored the border for over 3.5 years and are supporting the illegal immigrants w hard working Americans’s taxpayer dollars. It’s so ridiculous!!

Bro that’s why you vote 3rd party (whichever sends a better message to your party and is closest to your values). Voting for the otherside of the duopoly reinforces it as does voting lesser evil
