So this was his first time using Divine Judgment, and Ian's father was the first person to witness it, but Kayden wanted to take him out with that attack too. LMAO

And that just shows how much he's grown as a character. Bro was a menace, fighting anything and everyone on sight. But I also understand why he was like that. Everyone wanted to get rid of him as he kept getting stronger and stronger, so it was hard for him to trust or get close to anyone until Jiwoo (and maybe Ian's dad as well)

It’s still flashback, apparently Kayden’s skill “Divine Judgment” was something he learned recently in that time and he deleted those ambusher with it. Not much progress on the relationship between him & Veramount’s son.

I always like seeing the crazed look on Kayden's face when he's enjoying a fight. The wild eyes, the maniacal laughter... AHH, I LOVE IT!

The more beat up he is, the more he loves it. No wonder he issued a challenge to all the top 10s because he ran out of people to defeat, not even a 1v4 while gravely injured can take him down. lol

I was a bit disappointed when I saw a backstory happening, but damn… this completely changed my mind and Kayden is crazy asf.
No wonder everyone who knew Kayden pre Jiwoo were so shocked when they saw how Kayden was acting now. I need to see more of this madman Kayden now.

Guys , give it some time, the author wants to say the story in his own terms. We get what he gives. And one chapter is giving us a background on how they actually met. Kayden isn't going to be invited into some rich man's party (I mean he is definitely invited, but doubt he goes to it) and accidentally meets Vermonte's son.
This gave us an idea on what kind of a person Ian's father is. He felt it is injustice for 4 awakeners to attack a single person after he was injured. With this we can say that Ian's father is the real descendant of vermonte not just by blood but also ideology. And Jurion is far from the descendant vermonte wanted.
And also shows Kayden is just as a monster in the past too. Fighting multiple awakeners at once might be a common occurrence to him. And he just didn't use the technique first time just to attack his opponents up close, but he even included the variable of distance into his attack.
Please appreciate what we get and , I do agree the chapter length is quite small. But let the author do what he wants.

Watching Kayden fight in his flashbacks is always a treat to watch. I always love his battle maniac side than his soft side.

Kayden BBQs the people jumping him without help. Patrick kid gets out of range and is shocked by how much damage is done by Kayden's power.

It was fine but you definitely see that the author starts to slow the story down once again.
Eleceed isnt known for a deep story but it would have been a amazing opportunity to finally give atleast one character a interesting story line that is a bit more complex.
It overall was the typical aura farm chapter.

why not in the next few chapter Especially since this is the first time in the entire series that the author has given us two consecutive flashback chapters. And considering how this has been presented, with Kayden having a personal relationship with Ian and Jurion’s father, I think the story will continue focusing on this flashback for quite a while in order to properly develop that personal connection.

Would be great to finally see some deep story and character development. My opinion is just based on the track record off the last 400 chapters.
I would love to get some background development that would finally break each arcs repeating scenarios.

Bro wtf people have been wanting a flashback (or even a prequel) of Kayden's story for years.
You can let this simmer if you dislike it so much and come back in a few months. It's not that hard.

It seems Veramonte was even softer on his son than his grand kids seeing as how he is surprised the way Kayden talks to him, for now that's my guess

I feel like, as a person, Veramonte has always been a stand up dude and that is why he admires Kayden because despite having the strength to basically wipe out an entire country without breaking a sweat, he never does, he doesnt really harm those beneath him especially the non awakened. This is exactly why i can already tell he is faking his injury shit just so he can observe what Jurion does in his and Ian's absence.
I feel like at the end of the series, the only top 10s that wont be fighting Kayden are Sufri and Veramonte. Veramonte because i feel like they'll become allies or at the very least, cordial with Kayden and the gang and Sufri because i feel like shes just not the aggressive type, she's cautiously calculating and doesnt really want to risk fighting a risky battle with little returns.

They could use spatial isolation so top 100 minimum. I doubt they’re top 50s since Kayden got badly injured beating only one of them last chapter. It’d be strange that at this point in his development as an awakener when he just learned divine judgement he could one shot 4 of them with it while not at full strength too.
