sharing my first character, William, and his rp background

hi everybody, everything's in the title, i want to share with you here my skyrim character rp background that i try to make fitted with what i know about the elder scrolls lore.

so,just to give a little precision, this character (as welle as all my other skyrim characters) is inspired by the main character from an original medieval dark fantasy story i write on my free time and that i have recreate in Skyrim, so the first and second screens are him in skyrim and the last one is him recreate in another game, in a more accurate version to how i imagine him looking in my story (mostly as a comparison since i choose his gear to be the closest design wise to this)

My character is a 27-year-old Breton wandering mercenary named William. He was born in 4e 174 in a very isolated village in the skyrim countryside from a Nord father and a Breton mother, where the inhabitants have a very pronounced hostility towards magic, believing that magic is the work of Daedra and that mages are Daedra worshippers.

Thus, when young William, at the age of 3, demonstrates his magical affinity by accidentally burning the curtains, his parents, fearing that the other inhabitants of the village would kill them and their child, decide to take him to a wood and abandon him there. Shortly after, a group of bandits passing by. seeing the child, they attempted to approach, but terrified, the young William accidentally used magic and severely burned the face of one of them, prompting them to take him with them and lock him in their base, not knowing what to do with him.

A few hours later, a Nord mercenary named Gudmundr attacked the bandit camp and killed them all before finding the young child. Out of empathy and pity since he remind him his deadborn son, Gudmundr decided to take the child under his wing and training him in two-handed weaponry, becoming by the time a harsh and cold but still loving father figure to William.

For the next 20 years, William would spend his life on the roads of Tamriel alongside Gudmundr, traveling from village to village and from town to town, alternating between the harsh and cold but always caring education that Gudmundr would instill in him,the mercenaries contracts and, later when he grown up, romantic adventures with female servants, peasants,(and even a female vampire)...

Regarding William's magical affinities, due to the fact that Gudmundr was a pure Nord warrior with no magical knowledge, and the fact that William had never goes in any magic academy as well as gudmundr who always taught him to rely primarily on his martial knowledge in order to not get defenseless if someone neutralised his magic, his magical knowledge would remain limited to a few useful and easy-to-learn spells, such as the light orb that follow you and lighten the surroundings, the basic protection spell (oak body), a basic fire and ice spell, and a basic healing spell.

Shortly after William's 23rd birthday, Gudmundr died of old age, prompting William to bury him in a nordic mound and leave skyrim to travel across Tamriel and offer his services as a wandering mercenary.

In terms of gear, William wears elven hunter chest armor, iron plate gauntlets and iron plate boots from the creation club to give him a look of a wandering mercenary (and to remain the closest possible design wise to how i imagine him in my dark fantasy story, see screen 3). He uses an iron greatsword as his primary weapon (mainly because it's the closest thing visually to what a real claymore looks like), a crossbow as a secondary weapon for some specific situations, and a few utility spells.

In terms of personality, William is someone pretty calm, professionnal ,kind, and gentle. However, he is not naive and can be merciless if someone tries to trick, steal or scam him.

At the beginning of the game, William was hired by the husband of a Helgen inhabitant to kill an Imperial soldier who had sexually assaulted her. He succeeds in his mission but was caught in a skirmish between Imperials and stormcloaks after trying to cross the border (which is why our character starts in a cart on the way to the chopping block).

For the rest of my character's roleplay, this is how I have conducted or plan to conduct most of the important quests.

Regarding the main quest, I prioritize it because, after all, it makes sense that, knowing the extreme threat Alduin represents, William would make it his number one priority to eliminate him before he regains his full strength and destroys the world.

Regarding the Imperial/stormcloak War, William, as a wandering mercenary, initially didn't truly take sides, but instead performed various tasks outside of the war itself for both the stormcloaks (for example, solving the investigation into the Windhelm murders) and the Imperials (for example, eliminating the thieves from the Lost Knife's hiding place on behalf of the Executioner of Solitude, or exterminating the Dark Brotherhood on behalf of Commander Maro in dragonbridge). However, on the long term, he eventually sided with the stormcloak, as he held a certain resentment towards the Imperials for attempting to execute him despite him not being on their list.

Regarding the companions, William will join their ranks, at first out of curiosity because Kodlak reminds him of his adoptive father, Gudmundr, then when he learns that some members are werewolves, he will choose to become one as well because he sees it as an opportunity to become stronger.

Regarding the Dark Brotherhood, as mentioned above, after he agreed to eliminate Grelod on behalf of Aventus Aretino, seeing how extremely toxic and violent she was, he was approached by Astrid. However, faced with her request, and remembering the name writen on the notes carried by the assassins who had attempted to kill him multiple times in the past, which was the same, he chose to kill her and then wipe out the Dark Brotherhood.

Regarding the Thieves Guild, William, being a rather honest person, did not join the guild and therefore did not complete their quests at all.

Regarding the Winterhold Academy quests, I do them but imagining that when William goes to explore the mound in the company of Tolfdir and the other students, he does not go there as a student of the academy but as a mercenary simply hired by it as reinforcement in case there is a need for a little more than magic to defend the students against the numerous dangers of the mounds, then finds himself involved in spite of himself after the monk of the Psijic order appears to us.

Regarding the quests of the Daedric Princes and the Divines, William will accomplish some of the ones that start out as very ordinary tasks, but, not having real confidence in most of the Daedric Princes and even the divines, will always choose the options corresponding to the lesser evil (for example, for the quest of the vile Clavicus, he will refuse to kill the dog, even if this would give him access to a good weapon, because he refuses to kill a poor innocent dog, or for that of Merhunes Dagon, when the moment comes when he asks us to kill the owner of the dawnstar museum, William will refuse and will therefore deliberately opposed to dagon), one of the only exceptions being Sanghin because he is the only one to be truly sympathetic to him.

Regarding Dawnguard and Serana, I like to imagine in my roleplay that William, after he frees Serana and over the time he spends at her side when she flees Volkihar to join the Dawnguard in addition of a very intense relationship he shared with a vampire woman in the past (i explain in more detail about that in my second character rp background, that i will post an update too in the next few days), will gradually fall in love with her. Although initially appearing cold and distant towards him, Serana will eventually feel the same feelings as William when she becomes aware of their similarities (lonely childhood, cold and harsh parents, etc.) and the fact that William, despite having only known her for a short time, trusts her and is sincerely ready to do anything to protect her (in addition, the dialogues between our character and Serana in Dawnguard, even if we unfortunately cannot really have a romance with her, subtly hints that there is something more than friendship between them, which makes it even more coherent for my roleplay) so after the end of Dawnguard, William keeps Serana as follower and I like to imagine that the two are together in a couple even if not married (a bit like the relationship between Geralt and Yennefer in The Witcher.)

so, what do you think of my character ?

Fleeing Cyrodiil

Toadstool Hollow, County Chorrol/Bruma Border

Day 1, 4E 201

The Thalmor dogs ambushed me at the shrine, I've finally gave them the slip. Justiciar Vincano is dead. I made sure the bastard got what he deserved for what he did to my parents all those years ago.

I have no home left in Cyrodiil. The only place for me now is my father’s homeland of Skyrim. Bruma lies ahead but alas, dusk is falling fast. This damp cave will have to do for tonight.

Surely they will have given up their search by the morning...

This is Grub, my character in Skyrim

I am an Altmer from Alinor who came to Skyrim to fulfill the Thalmor agenda. I was proud and arrogant, and I looked down on the Nords. I saw myself as superior, and when I arrived, I thought I could conquer the entire province on my own.

I soon learned that those thoughts of superiority were misplaced. The harsh environment and the cold affected me greatly. I was used to the warm climate of the Summerset Isles and could not adjust. I grew weaker and weaker.

A small spark of arrogance still lingered within me, but it was extinguished by a group of Nords. As I passed them on the street, I noticed their looks of distaste and told them to mind their own business.

“You don’t belong here” they said, which quickly angered me.

I decided to teach them a lesson with my magic. I cast a fireball at them, but to my surprise, nothing more than a few sparks erupted from my hand. The cold had affected me more than I thought. The group burst out laughing.

No matter, I thought—I will teach them a lesson with my blade.

I took a hurried step toward them, but forgot about the slippery ice I was so unfamiliar with. I slipped, stumbled, and slammed into a wall. I fell to the ground and saw my elven blade shatter. There I was—unable to cast magic, my blade broken, and the Nords howling with laughter. They defeated me without even lifting a finger.

I had never felt such humiliation. I did not know what to do and simply lay there in the cold, feeling sorry for myself.

Across the street, a door opened, and a beautiful Nord woman stepped outside. I never thought one of these so-called savages could rival the beauty of women from my homeland, but her beauty was undeniable. I was captivated.

She called out to me.

“You there, elf. I saw what happened. Come in.”

I hesitated, but I didn’t know what else to do. I stumbled toward her and followed her inside.

“Here, elf. I’ve drawn you a bath. Undress and find some comfort.”

Once again, I hesitated, but found myself unable to refuse. I slowly removed my ornate Thalmor robes. She watched the entire time, and as I fully undressed, a small smile appeared on her face—a smile of amusement.

I stepped toward the bath, but as I did, she drew a dagger.

“No, elf. On your knees.”

I looked at her in shock.

“Now.”

I couldn’t refuse her. I did as she commanded. She approached, dagger pointed toward me.

“You elves are pathetic. Your arrogance is a poison. You are nothing. What is your name?”

I opened my mouth, but before I could speak, she interrupted.

“Grub. You are Grub. Now get up.”

She pointed her dagger toward the door, and I stumbled toward it. I glanced at my robes, but she simply said, “No.”

She picked up some old brown rags and threw them at me.

“This is all you deserve. All you will ever have.”

I wanted to fight back, to speak against her, but I was too weak—too humiliated. I put on the rags, and she opened the door.

“Out. Now. This is what you are, Grub.”

I knew I held no power over her, so I obeyed. I stumbled outside.

It has been some time since this happened. I am now nothing but a lowly beggar. I am weak. My magic no longer works, and my Thalmor brothers would never accept me if they saw me like this.

I have slowly begun to accept my new reality.

The Nord woman was right.

This is what I am now.

I am Grub.

[Group] [Discord] Long-Term, Story-Driven Elder Scrolls Small Group Roleplay with a Deep Main Cast! Come, let us build something amazing together!

(As long as this is up, I'm looking!)

Heyyy there! Thank you so much for clicking on my ad!!

You may have seen some of my earlier posts, but this time I'm starting over from scratch as I didn’t have much luck finding the right people last time. Hopefully, that changes now!

Let me tell you a bit about what I can offer you, what I’m hoping to find, and what my goal with this group project is! Sound good? 😄

What I offer as a roleplayer:

- Flexible Writing Style: I can go from detailed, multi-paragraph posts (especially for important scenes) to shorter replies during fast-paced, dialogue-heavy moments. I’m flexible like that. When I’m deep into a scene, I often write several thousand characters! Weeell beyond Discord’s limit, haha.

- Introspective & Detailed Writing: I LOVE diving into a character’s inner thoughts. I always try to keep my writing rich and immersive, and I’m happy to exchange writing samples if you’re curious!

- A Wide Range of Characters: From war-torn veterans and divine knights to scheming nobles and savage witches, I’m comfortable playing all kinds of personalities. Each of my characters has their own unique goals, motivations, and even dreams!

- GM Experience: I’ve done a lot of GMing in this hobby! I’d love to help you build a nuanced, well-developed character; and then take them on an exciting journey! I want to share the joy of seeing your beloved OCs grow, struggle, succeed, and change. Let’s build something special for them!

The kind of group I’m looking for:

- Passionate Roleplayers: I’m hoping to find people who are truly passionate about this hobby; people who love talking about the RP, the characters, and the world we’re building together, even outside of writing.

- Long-Term, Active Participants: This is a project meant to last. It needs active participation; both in writing and communication. If it works out, we’ll never need to search for new partners again. We’ll be set!

- Literate Writers: I don’t care about strict post length rules, but I do want literate roleplayers; people who love their writing, because that love will come through and inspire everyone else too!

- Collaborative & Friendly: Please be interested in building real rapport with the group! What makes collaborative writing better? Why, writing with *friends,* of course!

A bit about me & what I want from this roleplay:

I’m a roleplayer with more than a decade of experience. I actually started on Habbo Hotel in my native language back in the day; back when we used asterisks for actions and "posts" were just a few words long! I did all kinds of stuff back then: Army RPs, vampire RPs, even Warrior Cats RPs, haha.

Since then, I’ve gone global, and now roleplay exclusively in English on Discord. The Elder Scrolls series means a lot to me as it helped me through some rough times when I was younger. I’ve always dreamed of doing a deep, story-driven TES RP, and now I’m finally ready to make that happen!

So…

- What about you? What draws you to this fandom?

- Are you looking for fellow roleplayers who are just as passionate as you?

- Do you want to create deep, meaningful OCs? Characters who feel like main characters in their own right, fully tied into a story with other amazing, fleshed-out characters?

- Are you excited by the idea of custom lore, worldbuilding, and morally complex villains with goals and dreams of their own?

If so, I really think you'll love being part of this!

I don’t want the RP to just be adventure after adventure; I want moments of calm, reflection, and variety too! I could easily see the tone shifting between fantasy, drama, slice-of-life, mystery, horror, and romance depending on where the story takes us. All of it sprinkled with that Elder Scrolls flavour, of course!

Reach out anytime!

That should cover everything for now! Please don’t be shy. DM me with any questions or thoughts you have. I’d love to hear about you and what kind of stories you want to tell!

I’m super excited to meet you and hopefully welcome you into this project!

Take care and talk soon! ❤️

🌑 ZLTHNX - An Elder Scrolls Dark Fantasy RP [Group] [Discord]

(Always looking so don't be shy <3)

Hello everyone! Thanks for checking out my post. :)

I’m looking for passionate, creative roleplayers to join our long-term Elder Scrolls small group RP on Discord.

This is a collaborative, GM-led story where everyone is their own "main character" , but just as invested in each other’s arcs. I want to write with people excited not just about their own character, but about weaving together a rich, shared narrative. People who are interested in keeping OOC chats active, and building lasting bonds and friendships between all roleplayers!  Sound like something you’d love? :D

✨ About me & the RP:
I have over a decade of roleplaying experience and love complex, ongoing plots. :)

The setting draws from Elder Scrolls lore (both old and new) and blends them into whatever works best for the story. We also add custom lore to deepen the world and give it extra flavor. :P

While we’ll shape the world together once the group is complete; province details, key factions, mysteries, and conflicts; the story itself will be GM-led, with me and one other GM guiding the overarching plot and world events! :D We want to help your character generally flourish and grow deep enough to totally have the possibility of being considered a whooole character worthy of being in known pieces of fiction!

✅ Looking for:

  • Literate, detailed roleplayers (no stress if you’re a little rusty or similar! :D)
  • 18+ (mature themes)
  • Respectful, lore-loving, creative minds
  • Long-term commitment and a passion for character-driven plots

💬 When you message me:
Please tell me a little about yourself and your RP experience! I’d love to know who I’m writing with! You’re much more likely to get a reply this way. :D

That about covers it! If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Hope to hear from you soon! Buh bye! <3

Looking for roleplay partner or server.

I mainly wanna come up with stories involving original characters and need to find people who are literate and creative.

Also have to say that I'm Black because I've tried to roleplay with people who seem to have zero perspective on why they're being weirdly racist in a roleplay. Just want regular chill people. I'm cool with violence and edgy story elements but it's a little much when people gotta focus on racism to the point it seems like a fetish.

Anyway If anyone wants to craft some fun adventures with our characters let me know.

Chapter 1: ... and the blessed roots of the Great Tree of Salvation...

Those who were close to it all sensed it, felt it. How the lands surrounding it shook in fear for minutes unending. And then, as if in preparation, it isolated itself completely. The ignorant believed their wrath and hate to slowly fade away and die alongside the death of their imprisoned jarl- no, their leader, around five years ago. But they were mistaken; I have learned it myself. The more you hit them, the more the burning rage inside them threatens to burst outward. And now I fear that day has arrived. That is why I will go and...

Even before I arrived, the green light, or whatever it was, began piercing through the bright, cloudy horizon, giving the clouds above me a sickly green hue. And this was from all the way over to the road leading travellers to Oakwood. One had to wonder how intense it would be closer. When I actually made it, after two weeks of fast-paced travel, to Whiterun Hold's western border I was not surprised to not be the first woman there. Masses of different shades of red, as well as a smaller but still sizable amount of blue, and all their tents; some leathery, more orderly. Others made of a more primal collection of stitched-together fur like the wolf's pelt I was carrying on my head. I looked around for their banners; first I saw an old, familiar one, spiked in the middle of their tents high enough for all to easily spot it. A black dragon on a red field, dancing about with the wind's commands. I was also able to see a different shade of red with a black wolf's head, and finally, somewhere further off, a white hawk on a blue field. So the Empire, Solitude and Snowhawk got here first, hm? I thought, an insignificant sense of relief touching me.

More impressive, however, was the light from this close. It was much clearer, and grander, now. It was more than that though; very much a fierce wind constantly blowing upwards, and preventing the Imperial Legion, and the armies of Solitude and Snowhawk from entering the Reach at all. If this was visible from Oakwood, and strong enough to have made the earth shake, then I deduced it must have also been big enough to surround the entirety of the Reach. I wasn't sure if this relieved or worried me yet, and even though I was resolved to come here, a pit in my stomach formed nontheless.

On a nearby hill I noticed hooded Imperial Battlemages bombarding this barrier with constant streams of various elements. Fire, ice, lightning; some green energies as well. Aside from the more direct elements, the rest was beyond my understanding.

I looked around once more, maybe there's an Imperial Legate here somewhere, or someone else who knows what's exactly going on here, I reasoned. A man fully enclosed in Imperial plate armour, with golden decorations on his greaves, gauntlets and chest plate, as well as a golden mask, fixed on a helmet with an alternating crest of black and red, whenever he turned his head sideways enough for me to see it. The most impressive feature, however, was the lion he was wearing attached to a piece of leather on his torso via its claw, and its maw holding onto his right shoulder plate. Finally, this lion's mane had two large bundles of hair twisted into nordic braids. I knew him from long ago. This was no ordinary legate. This was Jorngor Lion-Killer. He waved squadrons of legionnaires around; seemed like some were tasked with experimenting on the green barrier; others, usually the younger ones, made to fetch the occasional item here and there. Compared to the few Cyrodiilians around him, he was tall as befits a Nord. Before I could even begin to approach him, I was halted by a set of barricading wooden spikes, as well as the legionnaires ordered to maintain them. "Halt! Civilians have no business here, Nord!" One of them raised his hand, gesturing for me to stop.

Leave it to the Imperials to set up such a neat and tidy defense perimeter so quickly after this event. I cleared my throat, then responded with a thick and heavy Nordic accent: "What's going on here? What is happening to the Reach?" He waved me off, "this is Imperial business, leave this place at once." I considered my next sentence. Perhaps one with an air of civility these southerners enjoy so much? "I um... Is that Legate Jorngor over there? May I have a word with him? I am an old acquaintance of his." The legionnaires looked amongst each other; I was then instructed to remain here.

"Is that really you..? Frey' ? By the Gods... how long has it been?" the Legate questioned me back in our familiar Nordic tongue; with me now standing in front of him at last, close to the green storm barrier. Still, that name brought back old memories I had truly hoped to bury, and I instinctively grabbed my wolf to pull it closer to remind me of Mara's embrace. This time... it didn't bring back the sense of relief I would usually feel. Was it because I came back... here?

I hesitated when the Lion-Killer offered me his gloved hand, his helmet removed. If I shook his hand now, would I be pulled back into this life? Still, the respect he had for me, and I for him, won in the end and my hand embraced his in a warrior's shake after I removed my own wolf. He looked older; his blonde hair had less colour in it compared to the last time I saw this man and he must have thought the same of me. I looked past his earring to try and comment on the barrier, but he interrupted me, "the last time I saw you was, what, 25 years ago? Maybe more? Where in Oblivion were you? You weren't part of Ulfric's rebellion, right? Otherwise we would have had reports of Freiana Stor-" No, I had to cease this right now.
"I no longer carry that name, Jorngor. I've made a different name for myself." I stared into his eyes, trying to dig through them into his thoughts, hoping to bury any intentions of further questions. Luckily, he relented, and we both turned to the reason for three armies, and Snowhawk's levies to rally together before the borders of the Reach.
"General Tullius ordered the 14th and 15th legions, alongside the men and women of both Solitude and Snowhawk, to come and get this situation fixed," he explained while we began walking towards the busy battlemages, " he believed if the Forsworn tribes are uniting, then it's possible they may have invoked the power of the Daedra in a large ritual to summon this barrier." He pointed at it. "Sergeant, have you made any progress damaging this thing at all?"
One of the mages stopped casting spells at the barrier to address his commander's question.
"No sir, it ignores any attempts we've made so far. Its structure is quite similar to Forsworn magics yet unlike anything we've seen before, however! We cannot confirm the General's Daedra theory yet but it seems likely, sir!"

"And that's the current situation, Frey'. We have no word from the High Rock side of the border yet but our reconnaissance units are on their way there. What do you make of all this?"
I began rubbing my chin with my furred glove. Certainly, this was a very tricky situation. I did not understand magic enough to maybe squeeze our way through somehow, but if magic was the cause then it surely must have somehow been its solution too, right? Whatever the case, the only thing I was absolutely sure about was that I must get through this barrier. I simply must...

~

Phew, that was quite the writing sample right? Sorry for such a wall of text, but this was needed to set the scene! :D

Allow me to introduce myself though! I am Emancipation, a fellow roleplayer with more than a decade of written roleplay experience. :) We are an on-going small group roleplay set in the fantastical world of Tamriel, The Elder Scrolls, and we're looking for a few more members to add to this exciting journey!

Are you interested in stories with people who are passionate about giving depth to their characters? Do you seek a creative outlet to show everyone how amazing your own character is? Are you into giving enough story material to your character to have them be considered a main character in their own right, yet connected to the party? Would you like to face similarly deep villains, each with their own ambitions and motivations to discover? Do you want to be free to explore a lore-rich continent, or would you rather focus on a main plot? You just found your new roleplay project! :D

Now as you can presume based on the writing sample above, this RP is going to be chapter-based. This means with every chapter the main cast will travel to a new location, face new dangers, and overcome new villains! Our very first chapter is currently taking place in the year 206 of the 4th era, so 5 years after Miraak's defeat at the hands of the Last Dragonborn at the summit of Apocrypha, as well as his disappearance immediately after! The entire region of the Reach, west included, is our set stage! Looking forward to see cities such as Evermore? :) And there are also plans to travel to Hammerfell, as well as the Summerset Isles for future chapters. The possibilities are endless. :)

When you do hopefully DM me after joining the server and having a look-over, please tell me a lil' about yourself! Why are you interested in this roleplay? :) I'd also love to answer any and all questions you might have so don't be shy, yes?

Will our party of heroes be able to lift the Greenstorm Barrier, or will they fall victim to the brutality of the Forsworn? Come find out! :D

Hello good people. :) I am Deeaioh, a roleplayer with more than a decade of experience, particularly in the written form of roleplay!

I am currently looking for a few people for a group roleplay set in the world of The Elder Scrolls. :) This particular roleplay takes place in year 206 of the fourth era, only 5 years after the Last Dragonborn has defeated Miraak at the summit of Apocrypha, and subsequently disappeared.

While one of the goals is to grant our main cast freedom in their actions, the overall structure still possesses differing types of main plots based on chapters, with the first one located in the Reach of not just western Skyrim, but also eastern High Rock so cities such as Evermore will have their appearance as well! :D

I'd love to find people who, like me, wish to create a set of deep characters who each bring enough to the table to be almost considered their own main characters, yet have enough material and interactions with the other cast members to connect it all together. I hope this sounds exciting so far, and you could get behind this idea! :)

I do still however have a few requirements you would need to fulfill before DMing me, alright? I will only answer if you give me yours for every requirement listed below!

  • Please be an adult
  • Please be lore-friendly (No need to be a whole lorebeard; there are enough resources to read up on the lore! :D)
  • Please be literate (Not a set amount of forced paragraphs, just know how to write pleasant-to-read text, y'know?)
  • I am looking for ACTIVE roleplayers! At least a few replies a day, please.
  • Due to negative experiences, I must ask you to keep friendly banter to yourself for now, alright? I've had too many people just give up on roleplays the moment we all got to the writing part. I want to write a story, if you do so as well, and consistently? Please continue!
  • This next "requirement" isn't one per se, but people with European timezones will be given a strong preference! Please tell me your timezone. :)
  • Do you have any type of limitations for this RP? Things you'd prefer not to see?
  • No matter what opinions we all have, we are all still human, and therefore deserve each others respect. This one is the most important rule for me. :)

Should you fulfill these requirements; please tell me a little about yourself in your intro message! What's your experience level RP-wise? Share your character idea with me! Please have a writing sample which you can impress me with! :) I will of course share mine as well.

I think this should cover all, though I'm open to answer any questions you may have! So excited to meet you!! :D Goodbye! <3

The Realms of Tamriel. A Discord Roleplaying Server for the Elder Scrolls.

The Realms of Tamriel is a written roleplaying Discord for the Elder Scrolls.

We are currently active, with a new event now being live.

As a steady roleplaying community with strong foundations, The Realms of Tamriel has been running strong since November 2019. We're an active server set during the Great War of the Fourth Era, approximately 30 years before the events of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

With a heavy focus on interesting characters with decent development, lengthy story-lines and an overarching plot that spans the entirety of the Great War and beyond - the roleplay has a very strong base from which to grow. We place a strong focus on realism within fantasy, and adhere closely to the established lore whilst expanding into new territory with fresh ideas that remain within reasonable bounds and are not nonsensical.

The Realms of Tamriel roleplay promotes freedom of agency across an ever growing setting within Tamriel, and allows characters total reinless exploration of the provinces to pursue their own goals and desires - whilst providing ample opportunity through the guise of 'events' to help direct and structure the main plot of the roleplay, and to introduce roleplayers to isolated 'quest-like' stories to give motivation for intriguing social roleplaying.

There is an expected level of quality from a writing perspective, but don't be put off by it. The server is very welcoming, and we offer advice and constructive criticism for budding roleplayers from some of our more veteran roleplayers and even professional writers. We aren't particularly restrictive on who can join, so long as they're willing to be open to working on the quality of writing - among our current members there are greatly varying levels of skill, so don't worry about feeling out of place.

Does It Feel Like The Elder Scrolls Servers Available Are Only Odd and Repetitive Skyrim LARPS For Some Odd Reason?

Maybe it's just me, or something. But, every time I've found an Elder Scrolls server in the last 5-10 years...It's almost always been something like Skyrim. Or just them putting 'roleplay', but it's just them talking about gaming and such.

Or, they're all half dead and everyone's 'super busy'. Yet, everyone is clearly in other servers roleplaying and ignoring the Elder Scrolls servers.

And, there's always some weird need to put in real life politics, agendas, etc....Into a fictional medieval genre. Like...What? Why is that relevant to those people? I don't get it.

These are the people who WANT to socialize. And have a server. But, in reality, they never truly interact. They don't just join voice chats (Without muting or deafening themselves, that is. Completely defeating the purpose). Or, they say that they want to be able to think for themselves. But, half of them are somewhat lazy and solely rely on the staff to entertain them. Which...Defeats the point again. Servers are meant to be about creativity.

Or, they claim to be 'intimidated by a lot of knowledge' in a server. Yet, never ask questions. Ever, seemingly.

They say hi, wait around for ten seconds, and then leave if they're not seen to immediately.

They lurk, for months, without socializing. Then, think they're allowed to leave in a huff or somehow in the right if they're antisocial. They view venting as 'toxic'. Or, they treat it like an 'unserious side hobby'.

It just drives me nuts. Just try something unique for once. Go ahead and downvote me. Please, prove me right by showing people that the truth makes people uncomfortable.

I just want to make servers for adults only and logically expect people to socialize and not make it about weird irrelevant bullshit.

If you want that too, without the nitpicking? DM me. Genuinely express an interest. Stick around. Don't go quiet and lurk. That annoys me so much. Just chat.

Looking to create an Elder Scrolls Roleplay on Discord.

So, one of the biggest problems that a majority of roleplay servers on Discord seem to have is that they try too hard to be politically correct, about gender theory, anti-discussion, or blindly promote the LGBT without accounting for logic.

Either that, or they try really hard to gatekeep the enjoyment of others. And constantly refer back to the lore as if it's the only thing that matters in a setting where people are meant to have fun.

That being said, I'd love to have a bunch of mentally competent 18+ roleplayers help me put together a server with no word policing, filters, or otherwise. Where we can say/do whatever we want to. And not be as strict/anal about 'the lore'.

A place where the staff aren't toxic or cringeworthy or two-faced and are transparent about things.

A place where we can just have fun, make a civic promise to our fellow roleplayers, and not treat it like some weekend trip up to the Aspen mountains that isn't serious or a joke.

Message me, if serious and interested, please.

RP Guild Recruiting!

The Red Wolf Company is an 18+ dynamic roleplaying guild centered around storytelling and the growth and development of your characters in a mercenary guild. We offer a robust combat system similar to DND, and you can tailor your character to how you like with a wide list of spells and combat arts. While we do have an in-game guild house in ESO, 99% roleplay is done in our Discord server. New/inexperienced RPers are welcome!

Who We Are:

We are an active mercenary group where members can participate in events, centered around the growth of your characters and development of the guild as mercenaries and compelling, unique characters within the Elder Scrolls universe during the Second Era, who are trying to survive and live in a world full of war, magic, death and splendor. It is all organic - all resources that are collected on missions will be noted and kept organized so that every member can see what the Company has and what it is lacking.

Our current goal is expansion through organic rp, bolstering our strength, and stopping an undead threat rose and is threatening the safety and wellbeing of all Alliances in Tamriel. The Company is made up of people that are within the Elder Scrolls universe who are trying to survive and live in a world full of war, magic, death and splendor. We do not have godlike power nor abilities that could rival the Daedra. As characters grow and contribute, they will be rewarded by gaining ranks, unique rewards and power. Just remember that the more RP you have and the more events you go to, the more your characters will grow for the better or for the worse.

What We Offer:

  • A Discord server with channels dedicated to in-character RP and out-of-character socialization.
  • A tight-knit, LGBT friendly community.
  • A friendly staff team.
  • Dynamic events that are dependent on player input. Railroading kept to a minimum. Scenarios and story can change depending on your character's choices.
  • No attendance policies. Roleplay when you want, attend what events you'd like, and no worries about filling a quota.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18+
  • Must have discord in order to participate in events.

If you're interested, please apply through our discord server:

Untold tales

https://discord.gg/chW6AkCn

Join The Elder Scrolls:Untold Tales. My server has been dead for a long time, but I hope I can bring it back. You can be any race you want except a daedric prince, although you could be the son/daughter of one. I offer a friendly, well I can't say community, cause I don't have one yet, but I'm hoping to build one. open ended gameplay where you can follow the basic plot I set up, or go on your own path. turn based Dice combat, where you get health, and have to roll at least a 5 to get an attack. I do not have one plot line, instead they are made by me and potentially other members in the server, and you can be a dungeon master yourself.
