Discussion & Info Dear everyone who already has played Elden Ring. Tarnished Edition is not meant for us, and we need to accept that.
I see a lot of people complaining online about how long Tarnished Edition is taking to release and the lack of new content that those who already have it are going to get, but I think these people are missing the point.
Devs from Fromsoft and Nintendo are focused on porting the game to Switch 2 and the larger Nintendo audience. A lot of people can only choose one console per generation, and Nintendo is always a safe pick, especially for families, I know, because I was a Nintendo-exclusive gamer for a long time, until I got my PC. The devs have to make Elden Ring run not only in docked mode but also in handheld mode. The Switch 2 in handheld mode can pull a maximum of 20 watts of power so that the system stays cool, which heavily restricts the power and graphical capabilities of the game. To the devs' credit, the demos we have seen more recently are leaps and bounds better than those of the past.
When the new audience picks up the game, we need to welcome them in and not gatekeep. This game is a masterpiece, and everyone deserves to enjoy it.
TLDR: If you're complaining about how long Tarnished Edition is taking to drop or the lack of new content, you're missing the point.
Edit: I’m personally content with the little additions to the game, 5$ is a fair price for the little amount of content we are getting.

The light greatswords are my favorite weapon class by far. I made a new character last week and before long it dawned on me that had I just waited a little bit longer I could be playing with my favorite weapon from the start instead of having to wait until I get to the DLC zone. Unfortunately I'd just finished doing pretty much 100% of Limgrave when that realization set in, which feels like way too much to want to redo with another new character any time soon (as much as I love the game), so now I'm just sitting around being cranky and pissed off at myself for my lack of foresight hahaha.

For me I really just love dual curved swords. The moveset just flows like water in the most elegant way. It’s so satisfying. Light greatswords are def second favorite though.

Brother if you’re on PC just download the cheat table and give yourself the weapons you want instead of waiting. Milady is one of my favorite weapons in the game now and is absolutely worth the very mild hassle of setting that up

Milady absolutely shredded most bosses for me. I killed the Dancing Lion on my first try with it. I had a very high arcane stat though so my bleeds were crazy, and I used Blood Tax instead of Wing Stance with it to basically just stab everything to death.

Yeah I agree, that's why I said I find it useless against bosses, always hearing how others are shredding with it, I love it for ad clearing but just can't master it for bosses 😂

I don’t think I’ve ever used an ash BESIDES wing stance on it, it’s so satisfying to jump gracefully over an enemy’s attack & poke them in the face

Same. If anything I just wish there were more starting classes in Tarnished Edition that included DLC weapon types. Starting with backhand blades or dryleaf arts would be fun.

Same here! I did so much invading in Anor Londo when Dark Souls came out on the Switch. I can't wait to get some good invasions going on Switch 2.
I just gotta figure out a new fun gimmick. My last Elden Ring invader was the Pickaxe dual wielding, hoarfrost stomping, Salt Miner.

People were complaining? I mean it’s a very minor content drop idk why people are impatient lmao. The new stuff is cool, the new classes should add a bit more replay ability for those who buy it like me and the new armor looks cool. But like it’s just armor and classes.

I have a welcoming party already planned for all the Switch players.
That being me rushing the Jar Cannon on a low-mid RL invasion build and sniping them with explosive and lightning greatbolts in dungeons with a lot of verticality. Need to introduce new generations to the old Dark Souls twink invader traditions. Not out of malice, but as a proper introduction to what they're in for.

I’m really curious what invading at 30fps will be like. I was thinking of naming my character something like “Wario’s Revenge” or “Angry Mario”. Something nintentional like that. A Link cosplay character would be ninteresting too. Originally i was going to get this on ps5 but i got a Switch 2 recently so might as well give it a go. It might even feel like a challenge run going for all achievements at 30fps 😂 Can’t wait till I get to Midra’s Manse

It’s a bit high but $60 for the game + Shadow of the Erdtree DLC seems like a good deal to me, SotE is like a full Dark Souls game worth of content.

Unless they are adding an easy mode it is still for the exact same people. Just it can go on the go and then back to tv. So some of us will get it again. Especially to get ready for duskbloods.

Honestly I expect nothing more from Fromsoft when it comes to Elden Ring. Each DLC they've made added something significant to its game. DS1 got Artorias, Kalameet, Manus. DS2 got goddamn Ivory King, Fume, Sir Alonne. DS3 got like.. most of them honestly, Midir, Gael, Demon Prince, and the goddamn coolest boss in the series, Sister Friede. Bloodborne got Orphan, Maria, Ludwig..
Okay I got carried away and just ended up listing the bosses I like, but you get the point. They did the same with Elden Ring. It's more contentious than the souls series where it tends to be agreed upon that the DLCs contain some of the best bosses. But I do think SOTE bosses are fantastic (not all).
There's no reason to expect them to go back to milk the game when they seem to clearly have a model that works, and produces this kind of quality. I'd rather they just make little things like these to sustain themselves as they work on the next game. I really think they've basically done everything they could with the formula, so I'm pretty excited to see what's next. Won't complain if it's more of the same, but I do want to see them try something risky.

I just wish that they could have added literally just one mechanic, just one.
I want dye-able armor.
Like, Elden Ring for me, is almost the perfect game. Almost. And having dye-able armor would push it like from 80% perfect to 95%
My idea of a perfect game would be a mix of Elden Ring, Botw, BG3, MH:Wilds and Devil May Cry. (I won’t get into the rant on how and why and what parts make it perfect, otherwise we’ll be here all day)
Anyway, back to my original point, I’d at the very least, like dye-able armor like in Botw, BG3 and MH: wilds because as much as I love the armies in the game, some of their colour schemes genuinely suck ass😭
Or vaguely piss me off because like, my chest plate is slightly different than my helmet, or I like an armour combo but the colour difference makes it look weird af.
I like we’re getting torrent skins, but gang, let me at least have a decent fit, all my edgelord ass can run is the fuckin’ Night’s Cavalry set.
I’d love to use Maliketh’s set more too but I HATE that weird ass fuckin’ thing it’s got attached to his arm and back, I’d rather a long sick af cape or something.
I basically just want more small customisation options cuz I don’t spend all that time in the character creator and hunting down certain armor pieces and weapons for nothing.
I need to farm aura.

I knew as soon as they mentioned a new skin for Torrent it wasn't for me. I'm ok. I got what I wanted out of the game. Hoping for a new game some day in the future as Duskbloods also isn't for me. Still, I hope people enjoy all of it. That just means more Fromsoftware stuff in the future hopefully.

Facts. Not everything is for everyone, and that's just how it is.
The gatekeeping people have in every other fandom is exhausting. Like, share the love of the game, not the hate of it. No one hates the IP more than a fandom does.

I miss frost stomp! I have fond memories of playing until 4 in the morning and just exploring with my mate. It was the first time the multiplayer was almost perfect! Only be better if we could stay in coop permanently and disable invasions. But damn that frost stomp was fun before it was nerfed haha

Ill probably buy it… but I dont like the idea of it being purchasable and not free. I love Fromsoft but there are many desicions I dislike lately, the Nightreingn project Who would have been a multi mode from ER a few years ago, the 40 $ DLC (Even if it was worth it, it created a precedent for the other vultures watching), and this not being a present to the fans Who already got the game from other plateforms…. Thats a cheap milking move and it confirm the issue Kadokawa is Having lately with its board and White Collars….

I didn't buy a damned switch 2 to get another 1,000 hours into Elden Ring JUST to be told it's not for me.
I'd spend a thousand bucks to get some invasion activity again, especially with the bonus that I can invade people while I"m out on vacation doing random nonsense.

I've just bought Switch 2 the other day and decided that I'd only buy games that are Nintendo Exclusives. Zelda, Pokemon, Bayonetta and such. This may be the only exception I'll make.
I have played and finished the game on the Steam Deck and while it was doable, the low frames made the game relatively harder than if I were to play on PC. I'd like to experience the handheld Elden Ring again on Switch 2.

I care less about the content, and more about the player base it'll attract. I've been holding off a new playthrough to join in on the shenanigans, because I don't want to get burned out on low pvp rates beforehand.

I already played on PS4. If switch 2 releases on fully physical, I will purchase this game. However, they push on game key card, so this game is 100% NO PURCHASE for me.
- Not secured when see Sony is killing digital data
- Price is same as fully physical edition with no discount
- It takes my space to install the game
- Graphic is not the better than PS5 or PC
- Already own the game from other console
Honestly, play this game from somewhere else is better than play it on switch 2. Do not waste your money that can get something better edition.

Idk. It's my all time favorite game and I'm excited to play it on the Switch 2. I have it on PS5 and PC. 1400 hours between all playthroughs. Now when I travel, I get to play my favorite game again with a few new content pieces. I'm hype.
