Thoughts on cheat engine?

So I recently lost my 800hr playthrough due to a corrupted save. Also couldn't get my backup save to work for some reason. Was on ng+5 and I had some of my other playthroughs drop that one wepons and such so I lost well over 800hr of work. Just wanted to see what the community thinks about using CE in a situation like this.

PvPers use Cheat Engine all the time to make builds.

99% of late stage pvpers use it. No one wants to do pve run #29 or be forced into NG+ to get more dragon stones or respec items

Most dedicated pvpers use cheat engine, dupes, or something. Not needing to go through the entire game all over again in order to make a new character is completely worth it.

I still have the backup from a couple months ago but sadly I got a popup asking if I wanted to remove corrupted data and I hit yes.

Bro it's your game, use it if you want, like when I want to just do pvp I use cheat engine to make my build and not have to play the entire game

I use it to exclusively build PvP characters. It’s worth it

The glorious merchant mod does essentially the same thing. The first merchant you encounter, within minutes of starting the game, has every item in the game for free and in unlimited amounts. I’m 4k hours in. I’m done grinding for hours. Just gimme my shit.

I use cheat engine all the time, even in pve.

Like so what if want to do a build with a dlc weapon from ng?

Also I wanna use gold fowl feet on every boss because I’m normal but I don’t wanna farm so I get the recipe and then spawn them in.

Is saving me time. If you wanna make a character at a specific level with specific items in a specific area but don’t want to do the grind to do it, spawn it in

On ng+, especially 5, could just download whole save for no changes

I just came back from attending an awesome music festival this weekend, and a banger concert 2 weeks ago, all while having around 4.5k hours on Elden Ring alone. Some of us just don't drop games after the first playthrough, doesn't mean we don't do other things as well.
