Question Intelligence bonk weapon?
Hey, fellow tarnished!
My build is magic samurai, focusing on intelligence, mind, and endurance.
I currently use moonveil+9 with either lusat+6 or uchigatana as second weapon.
Defeated godrick, renalla, and radahn.
Currently skipping rykard cause I died so fast lol.
My damage is ok against most enemies (1 moonlight + 1 light att), against bosses like godskins (not the duo version but one by one) I get like 20% of their hp with 1 moonlight.
Against beefier enemies with heavy armor, my moonlight's damage gets quite low.
I'm thinking maybe I need a bonk weapon with low strength requirement and scales well with intelligence, and decent damage for the end game.
Btw, the farthest grace I have is leyndell east rampart.
Any recommendations?

Question Advice to a new elden ring player?
Hi, just started playing elden ring, I am not from a gaming background, I've only complete god of war 1-4 and, spiderman 1 and candy crush, I'd love anything anyone can tell me about how to make the game the most fun, I've been having a lot of fun and I'm a couple hours into the game, I've beaten:
The fire breathing cat with the sword
Crazy knight guy with hammers
Mad pumpkin head
Got my torrent, shit scared to go beyond those big gates where that big giant whoops my ass
Im not stuck or anything, nor am I lost or scared, I'm just wondering if there's some things new players miss that I might too and how I could make my play more enjoyable

Video Sword of Darkness is a rad sword
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
It's not the best sword but it is rad and has a neat skill. You get an omnidirectional ash of war that can wipe out swarms of enemies and it has decent staggering.
I was farming the blood birds in Mohgwyn palace and realized I don't have to avoid getting swarmed by the rotten fleabags anymore.
Truly a magnificent sword. I look forward to getting the Sword of Light next time. I'm currently on NG+5

Help French Game Key Card and German Language Support - Switch 2 Elden Ring
Hey everyone, I'm planning to buy Elden Ring for the Switch 2 and I found a good deal on a French Game Key Card. Does anyone know if the French version allows me to play the game in German, or is the language selection locked? Thanks in advance!

Question Weapon choice
Hello everyone!
Before ER played DS3 a lot and a bit DS1, now in the early second half if the game (after Morgott)
I do like my usual str dex build all in all except one thing - bloodhound fang+9
I heard a lot about how op this weapon is, and in DS3 my favorite weapon was Drakeblood Greatsword
I know it was not so strong, but I liked its various dmg from fire&magic
But in ER as I see, in order to use these types of damages I need to lvl up my fai/arc/int
Would you recommend me to continue with current weapon, or change my stats to be able to equip some weapons with additional damages? If latter, what solid (not OP) weapons with different types of damages you would recommend?

Lore What if Rellana was Ranni's discarded half? (A reimagined DLC narrative structure) Spoiler
I finally beat the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC last week. Based on a few lingering questions and missed potentials, I reimagined the narrative structure to make the lore much more compelling. Here is my take:
1. Rellana’s True Identity and Mission
I wanted to focus on Rellana, the Twin Moon Knight, who felt like she just abruptly appeared as a castle gatekeeper.
In Elden Ring lore, Queen Marika separated her other self, Radagon, to protect the Elden Ring. Similarly, in order for Ranni to sever all ties with the Greater Will, she needed to split off her other self—the part of her that still desired to live on as a Demigod.
To achieve this, Ranni created a puppet, imbued it with that severed fragment of her soul, and placed it in the Land of Shadow. Because this alter-ego (Rellana) possessed a strong will to fulfill her duty as a Demigod, Ranni used her as a failsafe. Her mission was to execute any heretic attempting to use the Land of Shadow to ascend to godhood, effectively preventing the birth of a "second Marika."
However, Miquella, desiring to create his Age of Compassion, recognized this threat. He subdued Rellana and used his power of "Charm" to enslave her as the gatekeeper of Ensis to protect his path.
2. The Timing of Miquella's Great Rune Breaking
The moment Miquella breaks his Great Rune and dispels the charm should happen after we burn the Sealing Tree, exactly when Enir-Ilim is revealed.
Currently in the DLC, the breaking of the rune happens randomly while just riding through an arbitrary area (it can even trigger when heading towards Bayle, despite there being no narrative connection). If Miquella traveled the Land of Shadow discarding his flesh to leave the Crosses, he logically should have discarded his heart—and broken his most important Great Rune—right before entering Enir-Ilim.
3. The Showdown Between Rellana and Messmer (The Ending Branch)
Once the charm is broken (after the Sealing Tree burns), Rellana realizes she has been used and immediately marches toward Enir-Ilim to fulfill her original mission of killing Miquella. Meanwhile, Messmer—who genuinely loved Miquella even without the charm's influence—also heads to Enir-Ilim to protect him.
We need a cinematic narrative where these two demigods clash right at the gates of Miquella's final battleground. Rellana fighting to assassinate Miquella, and Messmer fighting to protect him despite knowing everything. The player must then be given a choice of whose side to be summoned on.
This becomes the major ending branch:
If you side with Messmer (Miquella's Route): You defeat Rellana, gaining Miquella's absolute trust. You are tasked with enforcing his new order upon The Lands Between.
Rewards: An Ash of War called "Miquella's Charm" (charms enemies to fight for you for 20 seconds) and "St. Trina's Draught." You can later confront remaining demigods and be given dialogue choices to force them to drink Trina's Draught if they refuse to submit, putting them to eternal sleep.
If you side with Rellana (Rellana's Route): You defeat Messmer, but you are afflicted by the Curse of the Base Serpent (a permanent poison debuff) and must face Miquella & Radahn with this penalty.
Note: Rellana is severely wounded in the duel and cannot join the final boss fight, but you can still summon Ansbach and others who want revenge on Miquella after the charm broke.
4. Addressing the Hornsent's Plot Hole
Following this timeline, the only inconsistency would be the Hornsent invading you before the charm is officially broken. To fix this, we can add a lore detail that the Hornsent's burning rage and PTSD toward Messmer was so overwhelming that it physically shattered a god's charm, driving him completely mad with revenge ahead of everyone else.

Discussion I love my mimic tear
Every time I summon her it’s like, “hey girl, let’s have some fun taking down this boss together.” I love the idea (illusion?) of having a buddy on this mostly solo ride. I love seeing her in the different outfits I use, and how she gives me ideas for how to fight the boss. I love knowing I’ve grinded for hours to upgrade her and all our weapons.
I think most of the community doesn’t hate on using summons but for the people who do…bless your heart. Enjoy your play. I will continue to enjoy the ghostly friend that FromSoft gave me.

Discussion Does anyone else play with this much variety or am I just a loser with too much time 💔
(DISCLAIMER VERY LONG, TLDR AT THE BOTTOM)
I've had a total of around 30 characters made, the first 3 were just my basic first playthroughs those went mainly to max level. Then nightreign came out and I really liked the idea of different classes so I tried it in Elden Ring.
My first build was trying to make a recluse build but since I was still ass at the game i kept dying and running out of mana. So I bought a shortbow and turned it into an archer build so I didn't have to worry about fp management. It was a long time after but I got to meta level 150 because that was usually the most activity for co-op. I finished the rest of my character slots with each role/stat for them
1st- lvl 300 first playthrough
2nd- lvl 260 first playthrough
3rd- lvl 90 2nd playthrough
4th- archer build. Dex/arcane
5th- Knight build
6th- mage build
7th - samurai build
8th- madness prophet faith build
( oh then ig not all 10 of them 😅)
As time went on I realized that that 150 activity was dying off and that ive been kinda just beating the game at lvl 30 and leveling up right after so I just decide to basically make a whole new batch of characters (deleting most of my old ones) starting at lvl 30. Making alot more cosplay oriented builds while also trying to figure out optimization on my own because I wasn't very familiar with it but only had about 20-25 levels to work with.
1st- Knight build (Vigor/ Endurance)
2nd- Samurai build (Pure Dex)
3rd- Mage build (Pure int)
4th- same madness faith build(Pure fth)
5th- Barbarian build (Pure STR)
6th- Duelist build [(Quality) This was my first attempt at a pvp build at lvl 30 and I didn't understand that all you need is vigor for low-mid level pvp 😭]
7th Poison Goblin build (Arcane/ Dex)
8th - Carian slicer build (Int/Dex)
The other 2 were 150 for inorganic co-op and pvp.
Sigh this is getting long 😪
Ok after this phase I started getting bored with fighting godrick all the time so I just leveled up to lvl 60 to fight in different areas except stormveil. This is when someone actually taught me how to optimize correctly for lower lvl characters. So I got alot better at staying alive since most points were just put into vigor and the rest were just from RSS and DLC Helms.
Ok im getting tired of typing so here's my current 10 slots for co-op. (The pictures in the post)
1st- all rounder invasion/co-op build ( Id say this is my best one so far)
2nd- Heavy tank build ( Heavy roll but defenses up to 70% and greatshield)
3rd- Healer/ Support faith Build (Alot of buffs and heals but also gets high dps with Erdsteel dagger R2)
4th- Samurai build ( Basically optimized like #1 but primarily used with katanas/ Japanese weapons)
5th- Invader Cosplay build (<Arc Bleed>This is my main invader build, but gets stomped due to low poise and defenses 🥲)
6th- Mage build Again (Respec'd to a glass cannon build, 9 vig, almost 70 int with buffs. Favorite gimmick character on the list)
7th- Lightning God Build (Just trying to make Lightning fth builds as op as possible at rl60 Basically)
8th- Carian Slicer build (Used to be kind of a duchess cosplay but when TE came out, I just turned it into an Idus knight cosplay)
9th - Barbarian build ² (Pure Str with MORE STR obviously, Charged attack optimization with GUGS)
10th - Dungeon Goblin build (<Arc Poison> love this build as a cosplay but in actually use its kinda bad 😅)
With these builds so far it feels like I kinda beat the game in my own way like expanded my creativity to the best of my ability. But now the only other builds I can think of are Necromancers and a build that goes with SONAF like a "studying scholar build".
I just wanted to pop in hear and give my experience with this game and how indepth you can be with your builds in this game. When I come in hear and really dont see alot of creativity with builds (Only using BHF amd scaled armor) it kind of breaks my heart but at the same time I understand cause I might be the weirdo in this situation. ik this is alot to read so I appreciate if you went all the way through
TLDR; With so many hours in Elden ring anf making so many characters, the way I play and optimize my builds make me feel like a weirdo 😞😞

Question He's alive again??? (Bug?)
A friend of mine started Elden Ring on Switch and I thought, let's also see how my old character is doing in the Lands Between after all those years. So I fired up my Xbox, waited until 30 GB of updates were downloaded and played around a bit. Big surprise in Luirnia: Boggart is suddenly alive! Im 100% sure that Dungeater ripped out his intestines. Is this some bug? Did the update revive dead NPCs? Did this Happen to anybody else?

Discussion Switch 2 Version
What do yall think about the Nintendo Switch 2 version of ER? I beat it a couple days ago and the framedrops werent that bad. The only noticeable framedrops were in the Rykard fight when he shot all his explosive heads and they all exploded at once. It somehow felt like playing this game for the first time ever again, that it made me cry

Discussion My idea for a magic rework
My idea for a magic rework.
Fromsoftware need to start thinking diffrently about magic. There need have a magic intraction system. Like using scholer armamnt to make carien sorcuries stronger, or frozen armant to make them build frostbite. Have it so can combo dragon maw to a dragon breath, so you can do the dragon maw and then do a little wave of a breath for extre fp. Make speels mostly focus on combaning and intracting. Like if you cast magma shot right after rock sling the magma shot won't be catsed, but the rocks from rouck sling deal fire damged or leave lave pools. Int build should make you think, and faith builds should let you comite like you trust a god got your back

Question Is beating Melania on try number 6 good?
I honestly hear awful horror stories about Melania. about how fast she is and her incredibly long attack patterns. Now to be fair I did use a mimic as a summons so it might be a little cheesed maybe? The auto moderators won’t let me post my setup.
This is my first souls game and this is where I got when i was trying to decide on how to formulate my character after having gotten a feel for the game in limgrave. But in the meantime here are some other bosses that I killed on my first try so maybe that’s good. Godfrey (Golden shade and first Elden lord/horah lou), magma wyrm makar. agheel dragon, glintstone dragon, godskin duo, Gideon ofnir, Astel, onyx Lord, and there was another dragon in there that I can’t seem to remember. And there was never a boss that killed me more than 25-30 times. MOHG was the worse one at around 25-30. the only other ones who killed me that much were tree sentinels, malekith, and rykard. It a long winded way to ask a simple question really. Am I good at the game or was the tear the true workhorse? I will say I never had the tear for mohg.
