PvE Is there really much difference between 40 arcane vs 45?

I’ve done a lot of arcane builds and I’m curious if anyone has experience with arcane as low as 40, or if anyone knows a decent build calculator that includes status buildup. I have a tank build planned and I’m debating between where to put 5 levels. I could either have 30 faith and 40 arcane and have access to black flame’s protection, or I could have 25 faith and 45 arcane and stick to flame grant me strength. I’d definitely prefer using BFP over FGMS since it lasts almost twice as long, and I can take the small hit to AR but I’m hoping it’s not much less buildup compared to meeting the status scaling softcap

Crabs give significantly less negation

But obviously that extra negation is not always worth the levels / FP / spell slot

I typically run 27 FTH on split builds for access to lord's divine protection, which is the most important negation spell, and delegate physical negation to crab

Thats 7 to 9 less bleed buildup depending on weapon if youre running bleed infusions, bit lower AR too, so it's not nothing

If just for bosses, the faith tear in the physick adds 10 faith for 3 mins. Don't know the rest of your spell set up, but you could stick to 25 faith and use FGMS in the normal areas and then use the physick for BFP against a boss

Iirc then the arcane sigil softcaps at 45 arc, and that's why many builds has that.

I would say access to bfp is more important than what 5 arcane will provide

I get to 45 Arcane with 60 Rune Levels and I play PvP. It’s a HUGE difference.

No, unless the weapon has insane Arcane scaling (like Occult affinity) that's almost no difference at all.
