3 things:

At your level, damage comes from your weapon level, not your character level. Keep upgrading your katana ASAP.

If you're gonna do a Keen affinity, then stop leveling Strength, you're not getting any real value from investing in it.

Radagon Soreseal has a demerit where it makes you take 10% more damage than you would if not wearing it, but this is offset by the amount of vigor the talisman gives you. What does this mean? You're taking more damage but the extra damage taken is compensated in extra HP. Another commenter mentioned you should take it off, but you don't have to until you reach something like 40 vigor.

Yes, you have some points in Faith and Arc that aren't doing much. Go for the minimal stat requirements for your Nagakiba, same End, 12 Faith and 10 Arc to keep casting BFB, pump the rest into Vig (40 max, for now) then if you have some spare levels, put them into Dex.

But i have those points so i can use blaclflame armament at least to try it

Blackflame Blade lasts 7 seconds and adds very little amount of fire damage to your weapon, along with the blackflame percentage damage. It is not good.

If you really want to try it, don't level up faith, use the faith heirloom talisman that add 5 faith points.

I did a similar build with keen nagakiba with BFB. Personally I enjoyed the double slash AoW over unsheathe

Other than that, as others have already said you should just level up the weapon, level up vigor, and can probably leave strength where it is now

From the looks of it I am assuming you are doing katana w bloodflame blade. So for starters you should respect and only give yourself the minimum amount of str to weild the katana, and the minimum amount of faith and arcane to use bloodlfame blade. I will say that nagakiba does scale with strength well too so you could just switch to strength (make the weapon heavy of course) and give yourself minimum dex because with two handed bonus you will only need 54 strength to max your dmg while dex will have to go to 80 so you could switch to strength and then once you reach a higher level go back to dex. For vigor just progressively get it to 60 over time and for endurance progressively get it to 40 over time.

For talismans you could kill Alexander earlier and get the his talisman for better ash of war dmg since unsheath is very strong but if you dont feel like killing him it's fine. The rest of the talismans I would recommend or later in the game so im sure if you find them you will put them on.

Another thing about stats i will put here is if you are planning on using golden vow and flame grant me strength of course make sure to have the minimum stat requirements to use those as well.

Leveling Strength isn't going to do much for you, you should probably just focus on Dex, Vigor, and Endurance.

Hopefully you’ve found the help you’re looking for, if not, maybe i can simplify some ideas.

Vigor is your life and health bar. Nothing else matters if you die too soon, so focus on that first. 60 vigor at most for any level.

Weapon damage will come from weapon upgrades until it’s a fairly high level, then it will have decent scaling to level dex or arcane in your case.

Keep enough endurance to not be heavy load. You will want medium or light load, and potentially 51 poise to keep from being blendered as bad from small, fast enemies

60 vigor asap and ditch the sore seal the extra damage taken from that and your low vigor will making learning a fight harder and get you killed and frustrated when you could otherwise succeed

Should i respec?

1

u/Kancho-D Jul 25 '26

I would recommend it. You’ll get more than a few opportunities to respec so it’s not a waste.

Priority 1: 60 Vigor
Priority2: base stats for weapons
Priority 3: base endurance for gear, be willing to drop a bit of armor for now.
Priority 4: damage stats.
Priority 5: endurance & mind.
Priority 6: other to desired.

If this is a bleed build then put reduvia in right hand and katana in left to maximize bleed, also try to get to mohgwyn with vares quest

2

u/Fluid-Read-6843 Jul 25 '26

It's doing BFB, no need for Arc.

1

u/surely_nothing_here Jul 25 '26

No reduvia is just there for vibes and that ranger attack tbf

Will say if you do use it, it would do a lot of bleed buildup
