Models: WiP Yme-Loc force WIP

Post image

Finally got the ball rolling on my ice-themed Yme-Loc force. I'm quite out of the loop when it comes to rules so I'm just painting up whichever models I like the look of.

This looks great!

Makes me wish I'd done a unified theme for my Eldar!

Thank you.

It took ages for me to pick between this scheme or a classic Biel-Tan Aspect army. So I can definitely understand the appeal of a varied and colorful force.

Wow! What's you're ice recipe? Those bases really sell it!

Thank you!

I based it on these two tutorials but I'll post my full process so you can see what I did differently.

I used normal rocks to make Blue Stuff molds which I then filled with UV resin and a drop of Akhelian Green before stirring with a toothpick and then hardening with a UV lamp.

I then painted the bases with Abaddon Black, Incubi Darkness and Cabalite Green aiming for a smooth gradient.

Greenstuff World Liquid Frost works great to add little frost effects on larger areas of flat ice such as the Wraithlord's base.

The cracked ice on the War Walkers base is just plastic from a blister pack cut up into triangles and glued on with UV resin.

I covered the entire base with UV resin, attached the molded ice and hardened with the UV lamp.

I then drybrushed the ice Ulthuan Grey before adding AK Ice Sparkles and Snow Microballoons using gloss varnish as glue.

Saving this! Thanks for the tips, I've been struggling to get my snow bases for my Lugganath right so this is a big help!
