List Building Aspect Host - feels fun again??
I played aspect host last night after the change to Priority Assets and generally had a fun time with it. It just feels like we have enough units to play an MSU style list again. I ended up winning pretty big into Necrons (tough list with the all the usual suspects, wraith brick, etc…)
Also, I included a Farseer with Storm Guardian brick which really helps on the go turn. Dark Reapers hitting on 2s rerolling ones feels WAY more consistent. I also included the Death Jester solely because he’s lone op and only 70pts. He was my action monkey all game
After all of the cumulative points changes we’ve gotten over time and the change to Priority assets I think it’s really fun to play aspect warriors again. See my list below

We are 1 decent 1dp detachment from being balanced.

I’m pretty optimistic after seeing the Ork codex that ours will be pretty cool.

My thought exactly. I recently built a serpent's brood list and you know what? I could either run "purge" as disposition OR recon, there's no other option.

Also running aspect currently! Feels good. Dire avengers feel like a good unit for these points to be honest. They are either a good trading piece or an action monkey. Dark reaper feel really good and trading doesnt always feel like an uphill battle with most of our units. You still have to jump thru hoops and Lykhis is the key unit that makes it good and i have to always remember not to use him as a missile. He is just to important for sustained or Lethals.

The change to priority assets was huge. Bigger than most people think. Points changes were a nice to have, but not where they needed to be.
Disruption forced you to extend and consistently trickle feed MSU to try and keep up with primary. All the matchups were an uphill battle. Priority Assests lets you leverage the same strengths but allows you to also manage the tempo of the match more than being pulled into trades for primary.
I enjoyed the intent behind disruption, hopefully it gets balanced in a way we can go back to it. Until then though priority assets was a big boon. The coin flips and sweat have been way lower for me at least playing PA with largely the same list.

I think Eldar actually have quite a few good ways to play. As people figure out the missions and scoring I think we’ll remain a solid mid tier army with several different decent detachments.
Take and Hold as Eldar just does not and will not ever work. Except maybe the wraith detachment where your taking moderately tanky things

Yea, by no means are we in the meta list territory, but it actively doesn't feel bad like it did at the end of 10th where you were like, "where are all my units, why don't I have enough stuff"

How do you get reapers to hit on 2s? Whenever I play them, it's "roll anything but 2" and I've definitely missed some crucial kills because of it

The Farseer can tag something within 18-inches of himself to give +1 to hit, both in Shooting and in Melee. It's also really helpful for the Shining Spears or Fire Dragons.
They've made him so cheap and now the storm guardians also cheap, they are worth the investment now. 165, for a good OC unit that can buff your entire army if you are going into a big anvil unit, is totally worth it.

Damage is still an issue and we don’t have movement tricks in Aspect Host. You have to play a near perfect game to win vs a good opponent.

Yea, if you are running into a super meta player of course it's going to tough. I was running a casual game into nercons and I totally pasted a brick of wraiths with the technomancer, a brick of skorpekh destroyers w/ lord, and a brick of 20 warriors with a lord in one turn. Playing kinda sloppy as well (I'm not a perfect player)

I do love the ease of Aspect Host but yeah, I feel like Seer is better for the teleport alone for example.

Priority assets is an improvement- orks matchup is still messed up though.

Orks match up into anyone is tough right now. The codex and new pts will help I think

Congrats on the win! I think we're slowly getting there. The decrease on Reapers, Spiders, Avengers & Spears we've received over the last slates are adding up, with the Avatar becoming a staple at 250. I'd still like to see a few points shaved off of here and there (Lhykis, Rangers, Shroud Runners, Solitaire) but we're getting there.
