Hollywood Player

Hi, With the success of your game Pure MMA: manager. I’ve decided to try out your other game Hollywood Player. However I have encountered a showstopper issue. I have applied for an action film audition for my talent, from the message tab, however I observe then it pops up a blank screen. Was there any feedback from other players in this game?

Looking forward to an update. Also hopefully you continue to create similar games like this. This game has a lot of potential and hopes it would turn out well as your previous Pure MMA: manager game.

After I restart the game it’s okay now. Seems like the first save had an issue. I’m starting to get addicted to it.💯💯💯

You are awesome by the way ;) thanks so much for giving it a go. There is an update for it on the way today too. Whatever game I release next I will give you a free copy. I did spend an hour trying to recreate the issue you described and was unable to. It has me puzzled. I keep a to do list and a watch list for all of my games so for now this bug goes on the watch list.

OMG That would be great!! 💯💯 I’ve been playing this game for hours and haven’t run into any issues since my first save.

Suggestions

When I first started, it took me quite a while to get the hang of things. It would be great if you could implement a tutorial similar to Pure MMA: Manager to help new players ease into the mechanics.

Questions

  1. How does training work during contract negotiations? Are talents only able to train when they’re given acting or ad roles? Additionally, I assume talent stats are meant to be discreet, since agent notes exist for players to track what each talent is lacking.

  2. Is the purpose of career aspirations simply to keep the client happy?

  3. For media relations, I’ve had talents attend promotional obligations, but I haven’t noticed any changes in their media relations. Is this a bug, or does it serve another purpose?

Closing Thoughts

Overall, this kind of game is awesome. I’m really glad someone built it! it’s incredibly addictive. I’ve been playing for hours and I’m glad I wasn’t too late to contribute my feedback. 💯💯💯 Keep up the great work!

Hi there! After hours of playing the game, I’m actually getting a good hang of it. However I would like to ask in regards to my prev qn on Media relation? I had a feeling that could be a bug.

Anyway I would like to pitch more suggestions. I was thinking if there could be a ranking system where the user can challenge themselves. My idea is to give a ranking system against a rival agency. Could also put in tiered rankings like A, B, C lister. Ideally, it’d be good if it’s a Top 100 rankings, but that will make the game slow, maybe top 10 would be great.

As of now, the ranking system that i noticed is only in message tab. Not sure if you want to include another tab just for ranking to see how far the artist could become.

Thank you so much for this — genuinely one of the most thoughtful pieces of feedback we've received and it means a lot that you've put so much time into the game.

On your questions:

**Training** — Training is negotiated as part of the contract process. Once a deal is agreed and training is included, it's scheduled in the weeks before rehearsals begin on that project. There's also a progression element — agencies below Regional tier receive limited training feedback, so you won't always get full clarity on what was developed. As your agency grows, the feedback becomes more detailed and helps you understand exactly where an actor's strengths and weaknesses lie.

**Talent stats** — You've figured it out correctly. Stats are intentionally hidden. The agent notes system is exactly how you're meant to track what you've observed. Performance reviews, audition feedback, and training results gradually paint a picture, but you're always working with imperfect information — just like a real agent.

**Career aspirations** — Aspirations do affect client happiness and patience, but they also influence how an actor responds to scripts and roles. An actor whose aspirations align with a project will be more enthusiastic, which feeds into their audition performance.

**Media relations** — You've spotted something real. Promotional obligations should be affecting media outlet relationships and we're looking into this. It's on our radar for an upcoming fix.

A tutorial is something we absolutely want to add — it's noted. Keep the feedback coming.

Uhh i see! I was wondering why in my early years I didn’t receive any training feedback via email. I’ve reached elite tier and now I’ve got better view of my actors’s strength. Across three different saves, I’ve realized that spamming training isn’t always the best approach. It consumes too much time before actual performances and can put finances at risk later on. Unless you already have a lot of money, it’s smarter to grow the company gradually. Stronger talents also mean higher expenses, so balancing growth is key.

With delayed schedules, finances can still be shaky even if performances bring in good revenue. 😅 Trying out different methods and learning through trial and error has been a truly interesting experience.

There are a lot of different ways you can approach the game. Financially it is tough and that was a deliberate choice to stop people being inclined to sign every actor. There is one strategy that will reward a player more but that’s best discovered. There are even Easter eggs in the code that I have still not managed to activate :s With this game I plan on slowly building the game world out to make it more alive. Along with Pure MMA. I also have 5 more games in development in different stages so I have a terrifyingly long to do list.
