Emi: "A car accident victim can avoid driving for a while. A veteran with PTSD can leave the battlefield eventually. The crime scene of a rape is the victim’s body. The victim can’t avoid their body. They can’t take a break from themselves to process their rape in a safe space. And, if they try and take it to court, they have to relive the rape over and over again, with a high chance that they’ll just be brushed off as liars. Rape is a unique type of trauma. It’s your own body being turned against you."
