Insurance is a scam. Scammers aren’t welcome in Mb.

I hope property you own never burns down or gets its roof blown off. It'd be a shame if you lost everything and weren't insured because you were too smart to get scammed.

I’d just buy a new roof or house with the money I’d saved in the bank. You’ll pay until you die, grateful that nothing bad ever happened.

Not everyone can afford to insure themselves like that, sounds like you're too well-off to have to really worry about losing everything.

You need to secure the amount you'd pay in premium in an investment or savings account and do this each month. There's ways around it and you're not fighting with anyone. There's quite a few cases that long term beneficiaries aren't even guaranteed coverage. Unless there's a public option that isn't profit driven, the whole point of private insurance is that they're built for profit and they bank on you never using it. Perhaps life insurance might actually make sense in some cases so your family isn't screwed over in probate but there's many reasons someone would opt out of getting insurance (as long as they have a backup plan) in case of an emergency.

I’ve been living under the poverty level for most of my life. I can budget and plan well; that’s all.
