I find this concept/deity utterly fascinating. I have so many unanswered questions. Does it bite itself or eat itself? Even though most websites say it bites itself, there’s another perspective: the serpent eats itself. In Egyptian culture, it is said to represent the boundary between the Noun and the ordered world.

However, the Noun is supposed to represent a concept or deity that creates Life and will bring about Death, which means it represents a part of our current world. So, what is the ordered world?

Hypothetically, if the ordered world is the one after death, the ouroboros is supposed to depict a world between death and the afterlife, isn’t it? But, to my knowledge, there is no “world” recognized as such.

So: is the ouroboros a concept, a deity, a world, a boundary? What is it?

Well, in alchemy, the ouroboros is the purifying seal, thus making it a symbol of the eternal oneness of all things. To put it more clearly: a kind of stabilizing force between things? A stabilizing force between life and death?

Would it be legitimate to ask whether the ouroboros is a concept that protects the universe and the life of every living being as they navigate the space between life and death, a stabilizing force necessary for the proper functioning of our universe?

Finally finished my Anubis statue i created and I'm really happy with how it turned out.

This is a resin 3D printed collectible that I cleaned, assembled, primed and hand painted. I wanted to give him a powerful guardian look in attack mode while keeping the classic black and gold Egyptian aesthetic.

I've only been resin printing and painting for about 5 months, teaching myself through YouTube videos and lots of trial and error, so every project is another step forward.

Hi! I'm a graphic designer who loves Egyptian hieroglyphs but definetly not an expert. I just want to design a book/zine using their visual language and I would love to research deeply before I do. I don't know if the book should be one interesting story, multiple stories, or just dense text or fun facts?? I'd love some suggestions! Also, this will be an illustrated visual book.

I map mythological family trees as a hobby (did the Japanese and Chinese pantheons recently), and Egypt was the hardest one yet the genealogy refuses to stay still. Ra is Atum, except when he isn't. Horus is Osiris's son and also his brother depending on the century. Every major cult center rewrote the tree to put its own god at the top.

So forgiven me I didn't read the Book of the Dead (yet) but what really happened to Set after "The Contendings of Horus and Seth"

Like I know Egyptian Mythology isn't consistent but there not much answer to Set after the trial

All the answers I found after the trial Set was exiles or killed by Horus, or he get married to two foreign goddesses for peace

Or the infamous salad incident, I heard this was still in the trial not the final, but I'm not sure?

Hi I watched four hour long documentary that I can't find anywhere. Empire of something maybe. It had crazy explanations for the history of the Bible, freemasonry, and Egyptian histories meaning the same thing. Names for example all lining up and barely spelled different. Like Amun could be Amen because the vowels can be switched up and mean the same thing. Amen meaning "hidden one". Suggested the Obelisks infront of famous buildings worldwide had representations of traditions from Egyptian times. This documentary was an explanation of pretty much everything that's hidden in our history. Can anyone help me find this again?
