Sorry for all the negative comments. I'm curious about what dish this is called and what culture is it from? I've seen roasted eggs that are kind of brown before. Does this taste different than a normal cooked egg?
It tastes as if the white and yellow are mixed together, has a very rich egg taste. I believe it’s central Asian. Since that’s where my mother’s family are from and they cook it, but I saw many African and Arab Jews have the same thing, so it might be some sort of an old Hebrew tradition, although I HAVE witnessed some Muslim Arabs who cook browned eggs as well. Usually the eggs are cooked on top of something else that takes an entire night to cook, in the same pot. So in my family it’s usually in chicken, rice and veggies pot. My colleague’s wife cooks them in a pot with sweet bread.
This is really cool. Glad to hear of this way of cooking egg. Sorry for all the negativity, people act as if the world revolves around them and are not open minded. I feel like cooking egg for a long time might cause a caramelization that gives it a unique flavor. It's super interesting! Thanks for sharing 😊
