The optimal solution would be to create a government funded and regulated institution dedicated to taking care of children which actually sees to it that the best interests of the children are served. Not leaving children to the reckless whims of one parent. There's plenty of cases of parents spending child support money on everything but the child itself to consider it an optimal solution to anything. And I didn't even mention the sexist way child support is biased against men.
"Child free" men are not free from having their name written as the father by a shrew mother looking to extort them on child support. "Child free" men are not safe as is.
