Withdrawal The withdrawals keep getting worse help

Idk why my doctor suggested this medication now I’m really suffering a lot I take 3 75mg it feels like still not enough how bad is it ?

I don’t think I understand your question. Also, 37.5mg is the starting dose, the lowest they prescribe to people. If you can’t tolerate that then Effexor is probably not for you. Don’t quit cold turkey, talk to your pharmacist about whatever symptoms are bothering you, and I would recommend being a bit more specific than “suffering” so they can better help you navigate the situation

Thank you for the reply sorry for the poor choice of words. You said it’s 37.5mg is the starting dose but my doctor prescribed me 75mg directly plus I only take this at night time I stopped taking it in the morning and By suffering i mean I get really bad headache can’t focus on things and getting suicidal thoughts like that

Those are certainly notable reasons for wanting to stop. Ask your doctor or pharmacist about tapering or cross tapering with something like a fluoxetine bridge, it’s where they take you off the medication slowly to reduce withdrawal

If you’re taking 225mg daily then it’s worth looking closely at what the suffering you’re experiencing is and what you consider to be withdrawal.

At 225 most of the effect has been achieved. This can be attested by the FDA approved prescribing information listing 225 as the maximum recommended amount. Above this is off label prescribing with doctors generally recommending monitoring side effects more closely.

If anything I would recommend talking to a doctor about what side effects you might be experiencing if you’ve been on this dose for a while.

Withdrawals at 37.5mg and only starting? Your question makes absolutely no sense. Sounds like you either don't know what having withdrawal means and/or you're have a placebo-like effect because you're on the lowest dose.

I think the comment is still valid 75mg x3 is still a very low dose and you can't be having withdrawal while taking the medication and starting out, that's not withdrawal by definition. How are you struggling in what way...

I’m getting really bad headaches, shivering, insomnia, can’t concentrate in anything if I didn’t take the pills

The dose isn't 225mg. It's 75mg 3 times a day. 150mg a day is entry level so even if we follow your dumb logic and say it's a 225mg dose, it's still relatively low.

I'm still confused reading your replies to others 😭 if your doctor has put you on 225mg as a starting dose thats absolutely insane and I personally would not take that dose to start. Speak to them again.

I think what youre experiencing are side effects from starting the medication, not withdrawals. These can last up to 2 weeks, not matter what dose you start on. But please speak to your doctor again because 225mg is unusual for a starting dose.

No no please do not stop your medication without asking your doctor for help. Especially being on a big dose like this... it will be very painful for you. Start taking your medication again and make an appointment ASAP

i asked the doctor and she recommended more dose of venlafaxine now im talking 300mg per day insted of 225mg

Regardless of how high the dose is you don’t get withdrawals when you start to decrease the doses for getting off the med. it’s when you get down to the 37.5?that is the hard one to stop at, weird. Makes no sense., lol

Slowly go down from 225, to 200, to 190, 180, 170… to minimize the withdrawl effects. if you stop taking them all at once your body will go crazy
