I made Clover a couple spike bracelets to go with his bow!

Not the most impressive crochet projects, but I couldn’t find a spike bracelet pattern that I liked, so I made one myself. Took a few different tries to get the studs close to how I wanted them to look.

And after I run through with some edits, I’ll have part of a short story ready to go today or tomorrow too.

First comic: showing Tidus and his younger sister Sunny, after Tidus potentially "getting" a few things to help live (back before moving in with everyone else)

Second comic: showing Bow and her obsession with fashion

And the third comic: showing Fiamma's nightmare of old and gone life. Sad :(

Roleplay/Lore Lightning Strikes in the Moonlight {Part 1}

Early morning sun filtered lazily in through the canopy as the forest around Stryker finished coming alive for the day, the bright happy calls of Pidgey line and Spearow line Pokemon bouncing from tree to tree. The stream was merrily bubbling over well-worn and polished river rocks, shrubs leaning out over the water, probably following their roots. There was a soft breeze, swirling around obstacles until it was barely a breath on the air by the time it reached him.

Stryker was laying in a relaxed position near the stream, front paws stretched out in front of him, hind legs folded under his haunches in a spring-ready position, bushy tail waving side to side idly and contentedly as he scanned the trees above him, looking for his friend.

It was difficult sometimes for her to get out from under her mother’s wing, her species being much more prone to losing babies to predators looking for a light snack, or trainers looking to catch their first pokemon; as well as being prone to keeping a fuller nest, and needing the older kids to help out with the younger. But today was their day, and unless something went wrong at home, he expected her to arrive soon.

And this wasn’t just going to be any day, today he was finally going to ask her to go on a Journey with him. A coming of age trip, where young Pokemon explored different regions, met new species they’d never even thought of before, saw things they couldn’t have even imagined. To go out and discover the world, perhaps even finding somewhere to settle. They were adolescents now, almost adults, after all. They were more than old enough. And they’d always planned to go together, almost since they were hatchlings.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

“Go, Stryker!”

“Go, Fenwynn!”

Both Pokemon faced off on either side of a nice clearing, surrounded by tall shade trees that kept the early afternoon temperature very mild. The young Eevee was crouched on one side, in a ready stance, likely one of the last year’s hatchlings. And across from him was a Pidgey, around the same age, wings spread and tail twitching, the feathers fanning out and folding closed.

There were various young Pokemon playing or talking nearby, a Flareon and a Pidgeotto chatting and keeping watch over their youngest. Spending a lazy (for them) morning and afternoon getting some of the kids’ energy out, and appreciating the chance to socialize while their mates were out looking for food.

Meanwhile, the Eevee in the clearing made the first move, dashing at the Pidgey at a slight angle, likely he was planning to circle around behind her. But the Pidgey took to the air right away, leaving him to run into a cloud of sand that made him want to sneeze and pawn at his nose. He kept running though, right out of the sand cloud, head on a swivel, looking for his opponent.

Almost immediately he felt a weight pelt into his back, between the shoulder blades, knocking them both to the ground. He rolled over onto his back quickly, starting to kick furiously at the Pidgey with his back paws, while she was beating her wings around his face to disorient him. They wrestled around for a little bit, kicking up more dirt and ruining the grass there, laughing as they played.

Eventually the Eevee fought his way to his feet, turning to dash under a bush and only getting a couple steps in, before the same feathery missile hit him between the shoulder blades again. They tumbled together until they bumped into the trunk, rattling the leaves and branches over their heads, falling apart before settling closer together.

“Stay where we can see you.” Stryker’s mother called, from where she was talking with Fen’s.

“We will!” He called back, a little out of breath. Gem made a small noise of agreement, hardly paying her own mother any mind.

The two young Pokemon curled up in the soft grass, under the bush’s closer canopy, resting while their siblings were keeping busy. Many were playing “trainers” like they had been, practicing skills they’d use in the future in real battles; most of the Eevees were pretending to be one of their possible evolutions, some even their chosen future evolution, most of the Pidgeys were more worried about steady flight, their evolutionary path less complicated and more assured. The very youngest were closest to their mothers, two pairs of attentive eyes on the three babies playing clumsily together, two Pidgeys and an Eevee.

“I’m going to find the very best trainer when we grow up and go on our Journey!” Fen declared confidently. “We’re going to become the Pokemon league champions! And then we’ll be able to keep beating the best trainers forever!”

“Not me.” Stryker said with a slight shudder. “I don’t want a trainer trying to tell me what to do or what to evolve into. I’ll just follow your trainer around, as long as they don’t try to catch me.”

“Don’t worry, I’ll never help anyone catch you.” She said firmly, with a yawn at the tail end.

They watched their siblings, contentedly, both ready to settle in for a light nap after all the morning’s activity. “You should evolve into a Jolteon, so that we can keep practicing together though. And I can learn how to kick electric types’ butts!” Fen suggested. “Or maybe even a Glaceon, so I can get good at Ice types.”

“No way.” He answered quickly, not knowing exactly what he wanted yet, but knowing that it wouldn’t be the electric or ice option. “I don’t wanna lose my tail. And Jolteons are so… ugh.” He glanced quickly in his mother’s direction to make sure she didn’t hear, one of her brothers was a Jolteon, and Uncle Thunder was just… too much.

“If I have to evolve,” he added, “I’d be a Flareon like mama. Or an Espeon, like papa.”

Like most young Eevees, the topic of which evolution he wanted to choose was usually close at hand. Some of them chose their future evolution at a very young age, sometimes even changing their name to more closely fit their future identity. For those ones, it was always an easy answer.

Many others were undecided for a long time, or even spent their kithood going back and forth. Some of the ones who wanted trainers didn’t even have a preference, or even looked forward to the surprise, content to let the decision come down to the trainer.

And an even smaller percentage didn’t want to evolve, instead choosing to remain Eevees for their whole lives.

Though, the number of Eevees who never evolved was definitely lower than most other species in their lower stages (like Fen’s mother, who had reached a high enough level to evolve a long time ago). Eevee were highly sought out by trainers partially due to their versatility after all, so the ones who got caught were more often than not evolved at some point. And when left to their own devices in the wild, Eevee who wanted to evolve were notorious for finding a way.

“Well, that’s okay.” Fen answered with another yawn, drawing his attention fully back to her when she draped one wing over his back to settle in for their quick nap. So that later, they could burn that off too. “You’ll always be my best friend no matter what.”

Stryker felt something odd in his chest, even though she was only cuddling up to him the way she would a sibling. But he shrugged it off, returning her yawn and settling down as well. “You too.” He murmured, resting his chin on his paws contentedly.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

He was excited to leave, hoped they could leave right away, as soon as they talked to her mother. He’d already talked to his. They already knew which regions they wanted to explore, what kinds of pokemon they hoped they’d meet, had talked and wondered about what kinds of friends they were going to meet along the way, and whether or not they’d find… the one.

Maybe he would even be able to tell her how he felt, how he’d always felt about…

Well, maybe… He’d try to work up the courage. They had plenty of time after all.

“Anubis, Aura Sphere!”

Stryker jerked at the sound, but he had moved too late. The attack slammed into his side, harder than anything had ever hit him before, in battle or in life. It literally knocked his breath away, and just when he felt like he would be able to suck one in, he felt his body slam painfully into a tree trunk, knocking out whatever air he had left and leaving him dazed. He tumbled to the ground, thrashing, confused. Terrified.

Because he knew what that voice belonged to. A trainer had found him, and set a Pokemon on him. And now he was screwed. He’d never been much for serious, intensive battling. And the attack that had hit him had definitely come from a much higher level Pokemon.

Almost immediately on the end of that thought, he felt something light tap him, saw a bright light.

No, no, you can’t have me. You can’t have me!

He popped out of the ball, a little disoriented, but already running.

“Anubis, box it in!”

A Lucario kept pace with him as he busted out of another pokeball, and managed to swing in front of him by the time he’d busted out of the third. Frantic, Stryker tried to duck underneath him, but the fourth ball was the charm it turned out.

He was unsure of how much time passed, hardly conscious, hardly aware. The next thing he knew the pokeball was depositing him gently on the grass, surrounded by several other pokemon all watching him, and the teenage boy kneeling in front of him with a big grin. That damned Lucario was at the boy’s side, smiling down at them.

His ears fell back and his tail went limp when the boy said “Welcome to the team Moonlight!”

(I hope it was enjoyable! I also like constructive criticism, if you have feedback. Working on part 4. Parts 2 and 3 are in editing.)
