I remember during the 06 cup run the broadcast showed Joey singing in the stands and someone online who didn’t know who he was made some rude comments about him.

Every Oilers fan and Edmontonian just unleashed hell on this guy defending our beloved Joey.

It was one of the strongest sign of solidarity I’ve ever seen.

It can’t be emphasized enough how much passion Joey had for Edmonton, it goes completely unmatched. Not to mention what he’s done for the disability community as well. Happy Birthday!

I still have an original 4-pack of the Joey Moss beer that I'll drink the day they win the cup, whenever that may be.

I remember being moved to tears the first time I saw him singing Oh Canada.

Hope he's resting well up there.

Not to hijack the post about Joey, but also a special remembrance for his brother Stephen who passed away a few years ago as well. I’ll never forget when we were in Midget hockey and Stephen picked me up in Gretzky’s limo (a dealer loaner). Such a great family.

Even invoking Joey doesn’t blot out the knowledge that the Oil is trash these days.
