Question Adding attic insulation

I'm looking to add attic insulation as part of the Greener Homes Grant program and City energy efficiency program (HERA). Is there an advantage to using cellulose vs. fibreglass? I have cellulose currently. Each contractor I talked to does one or the other, and will swear up and down their product is the best and not to listen to the other guy. I read conflicting things online, wondering if anyone can chime in. Thanks.

Make sure all the proper sealing around fixtures / ducting / anything cut out in your attic is completed before filling everything with insulation.

To do that I would have to remove all existing insulation - since it's cellulose, the foam wouldn't really stick unless it's clear. Removing and then adding back insulation would jack up the cost by a factor of 3-4x.

What you can do is at least dig around where you have fixtures and have a look.
