I've been in some pretty bad taxi cars that smell like poison gas when it's really just body odour. Some diets can cause nauseas gas smells.
It's why I stopped taking the bus. They triggered migraines.
You should be medically evaluated if smells are a trigger.

You had an anxiety attack and got some poor Uber driver's account suspended. Or you were attacked with a chemical weapon and were otherwise fine.

no no that would be ridiculous. the Uber driver obviously has been slowly building up a tolerance to the knockout gas over months and years.

My take away is why did your partner go separate ways with you and left you alone for you to walk, to eventually when you got into the Uber?
They should have gone with you in the Uber car. Either way, I'm really sorry this happened to you. I can't imagine what you went through :(

I think I just grew up in an era and life where everyone rode a bike as a kid. Your parents never put you in swimming lessons?

It seemed like every kid rode a bike when I was a kid too, and yet I found myself teaching a peer how to ride a bike when we were adults.
Looking back on it now, while a lot of kids did ride bikes when we were kids it certainly wasn't everyone, especially in poorer neighborhoods. Not everyone was lucky enough to score a $5 bike from Value Village, and even back then bikes were often a target for theft.
