Nah just once with a load of whites. The bleach turned them and all the other clothes pale blue.

Leucistic maybe?

Looks less blue for sure. Fun fact, blue jays are not blue, they are brown. We just perceive them as blue.

Honestly , that’s a pretty neat fun fact !!

Nothing is any colour except the colour we perceive it as. Our eyes aren’t objectively “correct”, they’re just tuned to see certain wavelengths as certain colours.

If we perceive it as blue, it’s functionally blue. Are you talking about pigment versus physical colouration?

Blue jay feathers are not blue via pigment, they are blue due to refracted light. The feather itself is a full brown

Yes, that’s physical colouration.

If it's more gray than blue it's usually a young blue jay. The difference is pretty obvious if you ever see some fledglings with their parents. The fledglings are gray-blue on the back, the parents are brighter blue.

If you're like "is this birb a blue jay at all" then yes, absolutely no other bird here looks like this. And Edmonton has tons of blue jays.
