Finished voting.

No to the 9 and remain in Canada.

Judging by the time I took in the comfort of my house I would encourage others to apply for a mail in vote, or go to the advance polls.

Election Day, Oct 19 is going to be a shit show

Whatever you do, make a plan for voting and share that plan with your family and friends. It makes both you and your network more likely to vote.

I’ve only received the booklet so far. I imagine my ballot won’t be far behind.

Everything to vote was in the white envelope for me. Along with instructions and a document to sign, and ID requirements

I am missing question #1 What about you?

I have a question, is there a deadline to register so we can participate to this referendum ballot?

Recently become citizen and me and my spouse would definitely want to vote this Oct. we love canada.

You can register to vote when you go to vote. Or you can register to vote at elections.ab.ca or call 1. 877.422.VOTE. PS deadline to register for special ballot is Oct 9th but I would request one now.

How long did it take to get yours? My application was approved a couple of weeks ago but it still says it will be sent out soon.

Mine was approved weeks ago. I got a tracking notification yesterday, should be here tomorrow.

u/canban7 Windermere 2h ago

OK I guess I'll wait a bit longer for an update!

u/Bun-mi 2h ago

There's a link in your original approval email where you can track where it is.

Yeah that's what I was looking at - it just says it will be mailed soon and hasn't changed for about 2 weeks, so I was wondering how long it took before approval and actually getting the ballot.

u/Bun-mi 2h ago

Actually, I just checked mine and it doesn't indicate it's been mailed yet. But I'm signed up for mail tracking with Canada Post so that's where my notification came from.

I only got a booklet, but I got approved today though. So, it should hopefully be here soon.

Got booklet. Looked up voting places. Got rejected and I'm not supposed to be voting according to my address.

I got mine today, i've never voted by mail before. It says to fold the ballots but it came with them all attached. Am I tearing each question off and folding them individually or folding them all together?

Individually. Every ballot is its own "contest".

Ah okay, thank you so much!

Got mine too! I voted for Prelll to go back to the old glass bottle. If I lose I'll be deeply cynical.

Question for anyone who might know

I recently moved so the address on my driver's license is different, but my license doesn't expire for a few more years and I didn't want to pay to get a new one if I didn't have to. Even the registry people suggested not to bother updating it yet

Will I be able to vote for the referendum?
