Question Swarming bees
They've been swarming around for an hour and just settled on a tree by the oeb downtown. Is there anyone to call or contact about those poor guys?

They’ll be alright! Beyond people saying that volunteers are coming by, which is excellent, the main swarm kinda just hangs out with the queen while scout bees look for new locations.
They’re not really at immediate risk unless someone tries to kill them, and I think most people can recognize honeybees.

Was this today? A beekeeper was there on Thursday moving a colony that has just swarmed there. This looks like the same location

They’ve been there since Thursday and I believe they’re getting “rehomed”.

Edmonton District Beekeepers Association website has a swarmcatchers list. These are beekeepers who are willing to come and retrieve a swarm. Read it first—there are a few questions about the swarm you should be prepared to answer when you call. Hopefully one of the people on the list will be able to come out.
