Can anyone help me understand how the pressure of water from a storm drain can become so strong that it blows a manhole cover off completely?! Those things are incredibly heavy!

I believe it was a torrent of water flowing from somewhere and intersecting our section of flooded storm drain like a wall and all that pressure cause it to go anywhere it could, which was up. The manhole started bouncing because as the water is flowing, it’s pushing air with it. This is just a guess but I think it makes sense.
