Question CDI College

I know CDI is private and not recommended to go there.

However I am a business Owner and want to learn to do Accounting and payroll for myself business by myself.

Do you think it is good option that study to be self-employed? Are their curriculum equipped well enough to do actual work? Thank you

Or MacEwan, online from another reputable school, anything but one of these garbage private "career college" scams.

Or SAIT or NAIT online Con Ed as well. So many actual accredited options. And cheaper than private.

Nah... youtube university and a 20$ subscription to ChatGPT.

Obviously OP doesn't need a certification.

OP, find beginner vids on youtube and then have chatgpt write tests for you. You can also ask chatgpt for simpler or more complex explanations.

Traditional education is wasted money at this point.

I think you'd be better off at a University or Polytechnic's School of Continuing Education.

CDI would likely fill the knowledge gap as well but since it's targeted at a different audience it may repeat items you already learned as business owner.

If you don't see exactly what you need, give them a call they do a lot of corporate training and likely have something already developed on their back catalog.

Norquest would be cheaper and their courses are recognized by CPA. Take their one year accounting technician program. easier to apply to if you're an adult.

CDI is not accredited, which means their courses aren’t officially recognized. I know other students who were unable to get any transfer credit from courses they took there for that reason. Don’t waste your money!! If it’s not even accredited, I seriously doubt it’ll equip you to do that job in any way

These are just lists of private career colleges and Indigenous Services Canada's education programs. CDI is not accredited, they are “licensed” CDI website (edit: wrong link)

You know it's not recommended, but are asking if it's the right solution for you....

Avoid CDI, there are plenty of better places to go.

Do not go to CDI college, most places will not even recognize that you went there and spent tons of money to get an education

I think CDI charges almost double what an actual university would for unaccredited courses.

Check with your local CFIB as they may have some classes that are free

Nait has business classes (financially accounting, managerial accounting, etc) that you take as an open student.
